The Shock Over Casios New G

Hey guys which g-shock watch has the most features and a good design, alternatively the best in these two specifications. They both have the Triple Sensor Version 3, so the sensor performance should be equal. The Rangeman is tougher, and water-resistant to 200 meters versus 100 meters for the PRW-6100. If you want a very tough watch with the Triple Sensor I would go with the Rangeman, Gulfmaster GWN-1000, or Mudmaster GWG-1000. I think any G-Shock watch is suitable for extreme travel and will be fine in the mud and sand. Officially the current mud-resistant models are the G-9000 and GW-9010 Mudman, G-9300 and GW-9300 Mudman, GW-9400 Rangeman, GWG-1000 Mudmaster, GG-1000 Mudmaster, as well as the GX-56 and GXW-56.

The main time display is analog, and there’s a manual sub-dial as well. On the lower half of the watch are displays for the day and date, and you can set multiple alarms, including a snooze alarm. This G-Shock is on the smaller and simpler end of the spectrum, at least as far as G-Shock’s go.

The watch, unlike the ones before it, supports Bluetooth connectivity and a pedometer. For other basic G-Shock functions, the notable ones are the timer and stopwatch functions which have been tweaked to fit the tastes of fitness enthusiasts. It’s more or less meant for large people, who want extra durability for their watches in the case of extra shocks and vibrations. Casio does this well enough to an extent that the GX-56BB is regarded as one of the toughest watches in the G-Shock collection. I have bought and sold G shock over the years and I currently own 5 models, four are analogue/digital and one is digital GW 9400). My common disappointment with all of them is the poor digital displays in both bright and dark lighting conditions.

I think the GW7900B-1 is one of the best looking G-Shocks, but I recently bought a DW-5600BB-1 that has a reverse LCD display like the GW7900B-1 and I find it very difficult to read in low light. A lot of people have the same complaint about the reverse LCD displays on G-Shocks. There is also the GW ER which has a standard LCD display but for some reason it never got a U.S. release so it is more expensive to obtain. I think the Tough Solar and Multi-Band timekeeping features will always be useful.

The GST-B300 series is also available with a resin bezel and soft urethane bands. There are many other deserving models that had to be excluded from our Top 20 list below. There is really no such thing as a bad G-Shock, and it mainly boils down to personal preference. To learn more about the entire range of G-Shock watches, see our Beginner’s Guide to G-Shock Watches. The G Shock is joined by the Timex Ironman and the more famous Omega Speedmaster Professional and Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 on the prestigious list of NASA-approved watches. Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe conceptualized the G Shock watch after he tragically baby g shock dropped a pocket watch given to him by his father. With his family heirloom broken, Ibe was inspired to change the identity of the timepiece from a fragile piece of horological jewelry to a tough and reliable gadget accessible to anyone and everyone.

All in all, the Bluetooth functions seemed well thought out and completely unobtrusive.
