You might think it’s too big at first if you are used to wearing smaller watches but you might get used to the size. You should try to find a store where you can try it on and look at it in a mirror too because it might look bigger from your own point than it does from a distance. If you want a smaller G-Shock I would recommend a Tough Solar/Multi-Band 6 model like the GWM-5610, GW-6900, GW-2310, or AWG-M100. For more features like the Twin Sensor or Triple Sensor you will have to go with a larger model. The GW-9400 Rangeman is the most popular watch in Casio’s Master of G signature G-Shock line of professional-use watches. Its success can be attributed to the Triple Sensor (altimeter-barometer, compass, thermometer) feature, its aggressively bulky appearance that offers extreme shock protection, and its reasonable price.
The cheapest ones are okay but they don’t have all the features like world time, multiple alarms, and auto light. No, the GWG-1000 does not have a carbon fiber insert band. It really depends which features you want and which look you prefer, keep in mind the GPW-1000 is fully analog. Which watch would you consuder for world travel- Deserts, jungle treking, rafting etc.
The various watches in the series boast a few different features, let’s take a quick look at a couple of them. The first G-Shock was introduced in 1983, when, according to Casio, designer Kikuo Ibe was inspired to create an unbreakable watch after breaking a pocket watch given to him by his father. Whether or not this exact bit of self-mythologizing is true, the story illustrates that function was the driver of the design of the Casio G-Shock. They’re all beefy and bulky, with rolls of rubber and bits of plastic jutting out in different directions, and G-Shocks are so-named for their shock and impact resistance.
