Casio Unveils “slimmest Ever” G

The biggest downside of this model is that it’s non-solar. If you can deal with that, then it’s a fantastic analog G-Shock pick. Almost all G-Shocks will have a stopwatch, a countdown timer, a backlight, and 200m of water resistance. Beyond that, Casio riffs endlessly with style and functionality, from resin-cased altimeter- and barometer-loaded models to precious-metal atomic-clock referencing dual-time world travellers. This guide should help you navigate your way to the model that suits you.

G-Shock GA100 is the perfect watch for gifts and first-time G-Shock buyers. It’s hard to go wrong with this bad boy, especially if you’re looking for a larger watch with wrist presence. It comes dozens of different colors and limited editions, so you have plenty of choices.

The watch is set by setting the digital time and then analog hands adjust automatically to the correct time. I just returned the G-Shock X-Large GA100 as I didn’t like the white hands baby g shock on the black face. This watch is charcoal grey band and case with grey and white hands on a grey analog/digital face. Looks a lot better as it is not such a stark contrast.

You might also consider the solar-powered GW-9700B-1 but that has a reverse LCD display . If you don’t need the Triple Sensor then the G-7900 is a fine choice with good features but personally I prefer solar models. The GA-2100 is one of G-Shock’s most successful new series. The design is inspired by the octagonal bezel, case, and band of the original G-Shock, but with a round analog-digital display. Two new models, the GA-2110ET-2A and GA-2110ET-8A Earth Tone Editions were recently released, and are likely to sell out.
