I would be willing to spend the extra money fro a possible investment, otherwise I’d probably just go with the GWM5610-1. Yes GA1100-9G has the Twin Sensor with compass and thermometer. Personally I would prefer a G-STEEL model as I would want Tough Solar power on an analog G-Shock. I think the GSTS100G-1A and GSTS300G-1A9 might be the same shade of gold.
Looks like I’m interest with new model mentioned in this page, in #19, G-STEEL GSTB100-1A Large Tough Solar Analog Watch with Bluetooth. I have ordered AWG-M100 as my first G shock and also agree with you on the solar part as I don’t like to change battery or impact the WR or the seal if the back cover is open. I’ve never had a problem with my G-Shock watches rusting from saltwater, but I was fishing and diving once or twice a week so it wasn’t constant exposure. The G-Shock Gulfman G9100 uses titanium parts and is officially rust-resistant (it says “Rust Resist” on the band), and it has a tide graph.
I’m looking for a watch which will be tough enough for extreme travel. It appears to fit the bill for most of the activities, plus I like the idea of solar power. I own G-shock squares with positive and negative displays. The negative display is much easier g shock protection to read on the beach and in bright sunlight for me. If you buy a negative display G-shock for the first time, you will likely want to immediately return it; however, if you can get over your initial reaction, the watch will start to grow on you.
Instead, it’s the fact that they have a Seconds hand , and their build is more compact. You can get the GA-800-1A around $100, which is still rather modest. The best digital display on a G-Shock is the one on the GPR B 1000 Rangeman. Hi, I only own two G-Shocks (DW-5600CC-2ER and a GA-110HC-2A), both without solar. I do Monutainbiking and also extensive walks while making pictures, I would prefer my 5600 in any case, because it’s light and I forget about it .
