Casio G
The various watches in the series boast a few different features, let’s take a quick look at a couple of them. After 1997, however, the trend faded and Casio, left with overstock, had to come up with a different strategy. Using the profits from that success, Mr. Kashio and his three brothers developed their own calculator, a desk-sized g shock protection device at the time. Over the years, the company became Casio Computer Company Ltd. , and the products offerings expanded to musical keyboards and, eventually, digital watches — with the introduction of the G-Shock. All of the above watches come with Casio’s “Tough Solar” charging system to keep your battery going for a long, long time.
You can connect it to your smartphone, allowing it to act as a step counter while enabling other features. Despite its smart connectivity, the watch has a completely analog face, including dates, tides and timers. You can set up to five alarms and take this watch in the water because it’s resistant to water and pressure at up to 200 meters. The face of this watch is packed with details, and the display combines analog dials with digital displays to get the best of both worlds.
Select a color by clicking on a colored square located at the left to display all the watches matching that color. My favorite element, and one that was really surprising when I saw the watch with my own eyes, is the color of g shock protection the gray used on the case and strap. You have to see it in person, but it has this texture to it that I’ve never seen on a G-Shock. And the most striking thing, I think, is that there isn’t any printing anywhere on the strap.
It also has Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 radio wave timekeeping, and a sapphire crystal for extra scratch-resistance. When Ibe set the standards for this new tough watch, he developed what is known as the “Triple 10” philosophy. The watch had to be water-resistant to 10 bar , possess a 10-year battery life and, of course, withstand a 10 meter drop. Note that the 10-year battery life is from the time the battery is fitted in the factory. If a G Shock has been sitting on the PX shelf for a few years, your mileage may vary. Of course, the “Triple 10” philosophy is a minimum standard and many G Shocks surpass it.
Hey guys which g-shock watch has the most features and a good design, alternatively the best in these two specifications. They both have the Triple Sensor Version 3, so the sensor performance should be equal. The Rangeman is tougher, and water-resistant to 200 meters versus 100 meters for the PRW-6100. If you want a very tough watch with the Triple Sensor I would baby g shock go with the Rangeman, Gulfmaster GWN-1000, or Mudmaster GWG-1000. I think any G-Shock watch is suitable for extreme travel and will be fine in the mud and sand. Officially the current mud-resistant models are the G-9000 and GW-9010 Mudman, G-9300 and GW-9300 Mudman, GW-9400 Rangeman, GWG-1000 Mudmaster, GG-1000 Mudmaster, as well as the GX-56 and GXW-56.
The GST-B300 series is also available with a resin bezel and soft urethane bands. There are many other deserving models that had to be excluded from our Top 20 list below. There is really no such thing as a bad G-Shock, and it mainly boils down to personal preference. To learn more about the entire range of G-Shock watches, see our Beginner’s Guide to G-Shock Watches. The first G-Shock was introduced in 1983, when, according to Casio, designer Kikuo Ibe was inspired to create an unbreakable watch after breaking a pocket watch given to him by his father. Whether or not this exact bit of self-mythologizing is true, the story illustrates that function was the driver of the design of the Casio G-Shock. They’re all beefy and bulky, with rolls of rubber and bits of plastic jutting out in different directions, and G-Shocks are so-named for their shock and impact resistance. Casio is a Japanese watch brand part of Casio Computer Co., LTD. The limited edition timepiece comes prepared with the US flag, NASA logos and an engraved space shuttle icon on the back. G-Shock purists will appreciate the full stainless steel inner case and screw-lock case back (like the original G-Shock DW-5000C). The GBD-800 is part of the G-SQUAD line of fitness-oriented watches and has unique features like Bluetooth mobile connectivity, a pedometer, and specialized stopwatch and timer functions. For those looking to be more active, the Step Tracker allows a daily goal to be set with a step goal progress display and a step count graph for the past 11 hours. Most of the Tough Solar models around $100 or less are the smaller models. Other large and affordable solar models are the GW7900B-1 and GR8900A-1 but I would suggest going with a positive LCD display like the G as it is easier to read. Still pondering on whether I get it, or get my other preference, a GW7900B-1 which is not a bad package for the price! The new Frogman is probably worth the price considering its features although for a non-analog G with the only differences being the materials, depth sensor, compass and thermo it is hard to justify.
