Tough Solar – Or in other words – a solar rechargeable battery. Solar batteries in G-Shocks can run for 9 months on a full charge without further light exposure. Daylight g shock protection is enough to keep the watch fully charged, you don’t need direct sunlight. The solar battery needs changing every years, compared to 2-5 years on normal quartz batteries.

I think the GSTS100G-1A and GSTS300G-1A9 might be the same shade of gold. I think the Mudmaster GWG-1000GB-1A is one of the best black and gold G-Shocks but is harder to find now. Usually the battery on a digital G-Shock will baby g shock last a lot longer than the estimate if you don’t use the light and functions, not sure about that model though as the estimate is already very long. The G2900 is a current model so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

It’s hard to justify, considering that the ~$200 Rangeman comes with the same features except for the analog display. Utilitarian, yes, but also a bit fancy with the metal dial and hand decorations, polished or matte metal case finishes, matching bottom button, and subtle tone-matched digital displays. These also feature mineral glass to allow that decorative dial to shine through. If you’re going to spend this kind of money on a G-Shock, you’re gonna get what is easily the most capable model, and thus, one of the most capable watches in the world. There are a slew of one-offs in the G-SHOCK digital lineup, all inspired by the classic 6900 model.

Among the newest additions to the G-Shock lineup is the G-Squad Digital Heart Rate & GPS Watch. A part of the G-Shock MOVE line of sports watches, these designs include complications that measure heart rate, GPS bearing, altitude/barometric pressure, a temperature sensor and an accelerometer. These complications are incredibly sensitive and give you read-outs in real-time. Another new model is the G-Shock Analog-Digital Forged Metal Skeleton Camouflage. Featuring a forged bezel, with a camo pattern laser-etched onto stainless steel, these watches are stylish, sleek, and masculine.

Some other interesting features on the watches are 200 meter water resistance, shock resistant, stopwatch, alarm and world time. Though this list originally excluded Japan-only models, the GW JF deserves a place on it because of its well-deserved status and popularity around the world. Also, it is not a limited edition but a regularly produced model in Japan, so it is not hard to find and purchase for a reasonable price.

Just as rumors have been floating about a possible rugged Apple Watch, Casio has unveiled its first G-Shock rugged smartwatch using Google’s Wear OS platform. The GSW-H1000, part of Casio’s rugged G-Squad Pro lineup, has a host of sports features and is also the first G-Shock watch with a color display. Since 1983, G-SHOCK has been setting the standard in toughness. Shock-resistant construction that stands up to dropping and other rough treatment plus 200-meter plus water resistance. “We combined that analog movement with a G-Shock shell, which gave us the ability to reach more users globally and to raise the price,” he said. This metal watch has all the original Casio design with a vintage square case.

It also works great for meetings and all sorts of silent reminders. The vibration alarm has a good quality motor and feels solid. The tighter you wear the watch, the more you will feel the vibration. The vibrations last for 10 seconds, and are faint enough that you are the only person who would notice them, but strong enough that they are noticeable. This is one of the smallest G-Shocks out there, with a thickness of only 12.7mm and a diameter of 43mm. It can easily fit under long sleeves and jackets, which is not the case with bigger models.
