It doesn’t have the flashy, bright colors that the enthusiast motherboards offer, but the GIGABYTE B550M AORUS PRO does offer some limited RGB lighting. PCIe slots-wise, the AORUS PRO features one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for your graphics card, one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot running on x4 and one x1 slot for expansion cards like sound, network and other cards. For storage, the AORUS PRO features two M.2 slots, however note that only one of them will run on the PCIe 4.0 , while the one powered by your chipset will run on PCIe 3.0. So, if you plan on running two PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs, this is not the board for you.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 reference design has a 295 W TDP, which resulted in our test system consuming 378 W when gaming. Regardless, you can still expect a performance bump if you switch from the Radeon RX Vega 64 to the Radeon RX 5700 XT. AMD has also omitted an iGPU, with the CPU and I/O dies now housed separately under the heat spreader.
Even though all of these chipsets support overclocking, you will get slightly better performance out of X570 chipsets. Whether or not you’re a fan of AMD and plan to buy a Ryzen 3000 series processor, they are a clear win for all consumers. The Ryzen 3000 series is competitive across the board and offers plenty of value at every price point. Gamers, content creators, and even your every day, mainstream users have something to look forward too with the Ryzen 3000 series, and we look forward to seeing what AMD does next. With a TDP of 65 W, the Ryzen X consumes typical power levels for a modern PC.
