But the Dewalt 780 mounted on a Dewalt support stand has immediately taken over from my Makita. It is accurate, quiet and feels like a leap into the future.
When plugging the saw in using the AC adapter it is causing breakers to trip in the electrical panel of the house. What’s really strange is the fact that it’s not tripping the circuit that it’s directly plugged into, it’s tripping other dual function AFCI/GFCI breakers dewalt accessories in the panel. This must be an issue with the converter and signals it’s sending through the electrical system. Needless to say it’s a nuisance that’s not fun to deal with, and one that customers are likely be be annoyed with when doing renovation and remodeling work.
However, I wouldn’t be able to use this to cut material that require some precision cuts. This is somewhat disappointing to see such problem in a tool made by DeWalt. The only question that I’m left with is why DeWalt didn’t dewalt tools go with a brushless motor on this model. Run time is excellent and cutting is confident, so I wouldn’t say that it necessarilyneeds it… but it’d be nice. Perhaps that was how they were able to keep the kit price under $400.
You just slide your fingers in from the side to push it into the ready position. I like the fact that I don’t have to use my thumb to hold down a separate switch while I press the trigger. You can get used to anything, but this is one of the simplest safeties I’ve used in recent memory. For users’ convenience, most of the miter saws come with a base or a table attached to the main structure. Usually, this is moveable and you can set the base according to your need.
