Brunswick bought Mongoose to Pacific Cycle in 2000 and Pacific Cycle was purchased by Montreal-based Dorel Industries in 2004. By combining Pon.Bike and Dorel Sports, a leading bicycle company on the earth will be created, with a combined income of around 2.5 billion euro. Mongoose is a brand name of bicycles originally mongoose hybrid bike designed, manufactured, and offered by BMX Products, Inc. RECO was an entirely owned manufacturing division created for insurance coverage functions to be separate from BMX Products, Inc, although RECO was always produced in-house.
It was headed by Vice President of Manufacturing Hoppy Brooks, in his attempt to market bike frames. Skip Hess began BMX Products, Inc. out of his home in Simi Valley, California in September 1974 together mongoose hybrid bike with his first product being the well-known Motomag One wheel. In its early years Hess recalled that about 600 frames per day have been produced at its Chatsworth, Los Angeles location.
