Greenworks is tossing its hat into the battery-powered zero-turn ring. We initially saw prototypes for the sun joe lawn mower 60V zero-turn lawn mower and its lawn tractor cousin a couple of years ago. Now we have a final production model to test and we’re excited to see how it’s all come together. The new Greenworks Pro 60V string trimmer is lightweight and powerful.
Be sure to consider whether the lawnmower has swivel wheels. This is especially important if you have curved flower beds or gardens within your lawn, or if your lawn is an irregular shape. Turning self-propelled lawn mowers can be difficult, which is why having swivel wheels is an important feature. These provide you with more control and maneuverability when steering your mower. It’s a self-propelled mower with variable speed control, single-lever height adjustment, and 10-inch wheels.
If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause Ego Powerload String burns or a fire. Check with local codes and waste management for proper disposal instructions. Keep cutting edges clean and sharp to ensure the best performance.
For the second half of the saw performance metric, we took the saws to a tree service job site to let the local crew get a feel for each model and provide us with some professional feedback. All agreed that the Greenworks Pro 80V performed similar to a two-stroke chainsaw, and the boys were impressed with the fact that an electric version could power an 18-inch chain. This model is less prone to binding and stalling than most of the other models that we’ve tested.
With the gas equivalent of a 24 horsepower engine, the twin blades turn confidently at 3000 RPM and do not bog down as easily as battery-powered walk-behind mowers. It is possible to get the blades to bog, though, and the mower is best for lawns that you regularly mow rather than constantly tackling overgrowth. The Load N’ Go™ line reloading system is so easy and has you back on point in no time.
