Why settle for a pool when you can rule your own tiny sanitized sea? Stop adding chlorine to your pool and convert your Intex pool with a salt generator system. Use an Intex solar pool cover with the solar mat for a killer combo. The solar mat brings the heat, and the cover seals it in like Tupperware. Well, if Tupperware harnessed THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE SUN, that is. If you’re not interested in a physical cover, you can try one of the liquid solar covers on the market.
Those are nice, they don’t offer the best stability, so we decided to upgrade a bit. You can put this pool directly on the ground as long as there are no sharp objects underneath, but we learned the hard way that you need a tarp as a screening. We have some hardy grass intex frame pool that grew right through the bottom of the liner. You will also need a ground cover if you put it on concrete with a rough surface. If this is the first pool you’ve ever had, installation can be a pain because you need to make sure the ground where you want it is flat.
There are a number of other differences between the two pools, though. The Summer Waves pool is certainly nicer looking, thanks to the woven details on the exterior, but it is slightly more expensive. Overall, the Intex won us over with its quality construction and reasonable price.
The support for the legs needs to be large enough so the legs do not hang off the sides of the support, and so the legs have room to spread out as the pool is filled. Anyone have an electrician ground and bond the pool? If yes, what do you do each year when you put it back up? Our township requires this but it seems like I would have to pay someone to do this every year. Stacy, we had some difficulty removing the horizontal bars, too. If the bar is stuck to the actual liner, turning it will sometimes help loosen it.
Grass growing through the liner it is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty. Splash out chlorinated pool water could damage the surrounding vegetation. Empty pool completely when not in use for a longer period and safely store the empty pool in such a way that it does not collect water from rain or any other source.
Close the Inlet and Outlet Plunger Valve (sizes 17′ and above). Be sure that the pool and all parts are completely dry before storage. Air-dry the liner in the sun until completely dry before folding .
