The Beats Flex Wireless and the Sony WI-XB400 EXTRA BASS Wireless are similarly performing headphones, and depending on your usage, you may prefer one pair over the other. The Beats are more comfortable, stable, and have a better build quality. They also isolate more noise and have a W1 chip so that you can seamlessly pair them with Apple devices. These headphones have a comfortable fit and have over 11 hours of continuous battery life, which should last through long days at the office.

The people I talked to said I sounded clear and the noise reduction outdoors in noisier environments was good. You can answer and end calls with the button on the left module, where there’s also a rocker switch for volume control. While playing music, tapping the universal control button twice skips tracks forward. I don’t know if the Flex quite measures up to the AirPods for making calls but it’s close.
The Beats Flex is great for everyday use because the soft-touch plastic makes the headset very lightweight at just 18.6 grams. This is good if you plan to have the neckband on all day, as you’ll barely feel the buds weighing you down. The cables are very long, so you’ll deal with long loops where the earbuds connect to the neckband.
However, we would have liked the cable between the two boxes to be a little longer, especially if it rests on a jacket and not directly on the neck. Beats Flex wireless earphones are an affordable alternative to the brand’s $150 Powerbeats. Right now, you can nab them for an incredibly low price before Prime Day.
The $50 I spent on these was more than worth it considering I almost bought a pair of Samsung ear buds for $180. These may not be the best sounding headphones from Beats, and the neckband feels like too much extra, but the price is nothing to sneeze at.
