Apple’s numbers are on point and in line with my testing. With that kind of endurance, I’ve only had to charge the Solo Pros once a week, if that. Should you somehow find yourself almost out of battery, a 10-minute charge should be enough to get three hours of listening time. The Solo Pro is Beats most impressive set of headphones to date.
There’s still plenty of bass, but it’s not a constant burden that overpowers everything else. The Solo Pro packs some pleasant thump, especially in genres with more low-end tone — hip-hop, electronic, and booming metal. The highs are bright beats studio3 and the mids are well represented, so the soundscape here is full. Guitars, drums, vocals and other elements come through clearly. There’s also some depth to the sound, which keeps particularly dense tracks from becoming a chaotic mess.
In a departure from their early noise cancelling models, Beats hit the nail on the head with its on-ear ANC technology in the Beats Solo Pro. It uses real-time audio calibration to automatically adjust noise cancelling intensity. A big problem with on-ears is their inability to passively isolate listeners from their surroundings. If you can’t get a good seal with the headphones, ANC is usually a lost cause.
One of the greatest tools in the Beats Solo Pro’s audio arsenal is its amazingly effective noise-canceling properties. The Beats Studio 3 is made using a blend beats studio3 of high-grade plastics and softer finishing materials. The headset has a soft-matter finish that provides both cushioning and passive grip for studio use.
Although the sound signature remains bass-heavy, as is emblematic of Beats, it rarely overpowers vocal reproduction. Under the left earcup, you’ll find another button that lets you toggle ANC on and off with a double press while a single press activates transparency mode. This is handy for increasing awareness of your surroundings so you don’t have to take them off or pause the music when, for example, crossing the road.
The device sits tightly in place, creating an acoustic seal which reduces background noise and prevents your music from leaking out. The higher beats studio3 the high-frequency response, the clearer and crispier the treble. The lower the low-frequency response, the stronger and juicier the bass.
