The Beats Studio3 Wireless are slightly better headphones than the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC. The Beats are noticeably more comfortable, slightly better-built, and have a more premium feel than the Sennheiser. They also have a better-balanced sound profile, but our unit had significant phase mismatch and performed differently on various users. The ANC feature of the Beats is quite good, but the self-noise is pretty high and can be heard when no audio is being played through the headphones. The Sennheiser can connect to two devices simultaneously and can be used passively, which you can’t do with the Beats. Beats Studio3 Wireless instantly syncs to your devices for best-in-class performance, allowing you to roam around, listen to music, and stay productive all day.
Now I wouldn’t say the Studio3 are true over-ear headphones since they don’t completely seal over your ear but they are still very comfortable and the ear pads are very soft. Overall, easy advantage here for the Studio 3 – I think most people will agree that over-ear headphones are preferable. These headphones have a battery life of up to 22 consecutive hours , and their ergonomic design ensures that you won’t end up with your ears feeling squashed. The Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones come with Apple’s W1 chip, meaning you can quickly and easily pair them with your devices via Bluetooth. You can even chat with Siri using the buttons right on the cushioned ear cups. As to the Beats noise canceling, it’s fine, but it doesn’t rise above that.

Like many over-ear headphones, the s are a mostly matte plastic build with plenty of soft padding along the headband. In my testing, I found the softness of the headband extended to the ear cushions with added breathability.
Beats Studio3 has a noise cancellation function and if you are an IOS user, this device is for you. The Studio 3 headphones also win out when it comes to audio quality. Both offer pretty good sound but at the end of the day if we had to choose one it would be the Studio3s.

I threw a variety of genres at the Studio3s, ranging from the Beatles to Ed Sheeran and back to Bruce Springsteen to Christina Perri. While there was a noticeable emphasis on bass, I found that it worked for many tracks and wasn’t that overpowering. Furthermore, high and mid tones like guitars, piano, vocal and electronic notes came through clear. This was true for tracks off studio albums as well as live editions. If anything, a live version of “Born to Run” makes you feel like you’re in the arena.
For comparison, Bose claims that their QC35 headphones can be used for up to 20 hours of continuous listening. We got 10 hours and 12 minutes on 100% volume with ANC switched on in our tests, so it’s easy to see how you could push them well past the 22-hour mark unless you want to blow out your eardrums. The Beats headphones have a bit more flair in their design, while the more austere look of the Bose headphones almost lends an air of formality.
At $349.95, the Beats Studio3s are on the higher end of the headphone spectrum, but they’re competitive at that price. Also, if you’re lucky enough to still have a headphone jack on your device, you can plug the Studio3s into it.
