Evga Nvidia Geforce Rtx 2080 Ti Graphic Card, 11 Gb Gddr6
Unsurprisingly, the RTX 2080 Ti is also the best consumer graphics cards for all-round performance. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition trades performance blows with an overclocked GTX 1080 Ti, but offers the promise of ray tracing and AI-enhanced games for $100 more. It’s joined by a single HDMI 2.0b port, and dual DisplayPort 1.4 connections that are ready for DisplayPort 1.4a in the future.
Its powerful NVIDIA Turing™ GPU architecture, breakthrough technologies, and 11 GB of next-gen, ultra-fast GDDR6 memory make it the world’s ultimate gaming GPU. In the course of the benchmarks, the card’s core clock peaked at 2,055MHz, or about 100MHz higher than the highest clock we recorded while doing our thermal testing earlier in this review. Most likely, there’s headroom for further overclocking, but as noted, time wasn’t available to experiment much. Plenty more exploration of the RTX 2080 Ti’s overclocking will happen with reviews of subsequent third-party cards. Its 4K gaming performance is especially improved over its “Pascal”-architecture-based predecessor, theGeForce GTX 1080 Ti. At the same time, I can’t ignore that the latter was $699 at its debut in 2017, making the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition’s near-twofold jump in price seem a little extreme.
But, until more games that take advantage of its next generation features start hitting the market, it’s a bit of a tougher sell for people already on Nvidia’s 10-series cards. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 Ti costs significantly more than its predecessor, but it’s also the first graphics card capable of gaming well past the 4K/60 barrier. If you can afford it, this graphics card can feed a 4K, 144Hz monitor like no other, and it’s built for the future with dedicated ray tracing hardware. The key factor here will be game support, which looks to be gaining steam fast, if going by recent announcements. The RTX 2080 Ti Founder’s Edition is easily one of the most powerful consumer graphics cards ever made, and it’s priced accordingly as well.
With the PS5andXbox Series X both coming with ray-tracing hardware, we can expect there to be more games with the real-time light rendering technique enabled. That means more games to put the ray-tracing power of the RTX 3080 to the test. If you have a PC with a modern processor, plenty of RAM and a modern motherboard, then an upgrade from, say, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, makes a lot of sense. That’s because with the RTX 3080, you’re not just gtx 1080 8gb getting a big performance boost but also access to Nvida’s second-generation ray-tracing tech. Our extensive performance and stress tests begin with the very latest chart-topping titles — like Fortnite, League of Legends, Overwatch and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. We also carry out reliability trials that include a 144-hour stability test and a series of 3DMark benchmarking runs to ensure the card performs well when pushed to the limits.
RTX graphics cards are optimized for your favorite streaming apps to provide maximum performance for your live stream. The GeForce GTX 970M is powered by the next-generation NVIDIA Maxwell™ architecture, which delivers blazing-fast performance, advanced graphics technologies, and improved battery life. Now you can take on your PC games with faster, smoother gameplay at ultra settings.
Nvidia had previously left the four-figure pricing tier to its elite Titan-branded cards, the circa-2016Pascal version of the Nvidia Titan Xbeing a recent example. The common theme with these price comparisons, though, is that they’re all Nvidia graphics cards. The company is essentially competing with itself, as AMD hasn’t yet produced its RTX 20-series competitor. This GPU also features two additional types of cores its predecessors never had, in the form of RT and Tensor cores. The RTX 2080’s Ti’s 68 RT Cores power ray tracing, which allows this graphics card to render much more complex, real-time lighting scenarios and natural shadows than the 1080 Ti ever could. Turing and the all-new RTX platform give you up to 6X the performance of previous-generation graphics cards and brings the power of real-time ray tracing and AI to games.
If you don’t care for Ampere’s improved ray tracing performance, and you’re keen for 11GB of the good stuff , perhaps you should even be willing to spend a little bit more on the gtx 1080 8gb. As with the RTX 2080, I’m somewhat disappointed by the performance results from the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. It’s extremely fast, but it’s also packing 20 percent more CUDA cores than the 1080 Ti, and it even has a clockspeed advantage. Nvidia’s claims of 50 percent more efficient shaders don’t seem to hold up, unless Nvidia is also accounting for power efficiency—something I’ll be investigating more in the coming weeks.
The Turing cards have also had a couple of architectural tweaks that have resulted in improved bandwidth compared to the Pascal predecessors. While the GTX 1080 Ti has a memory bandwidth of 484GB/s, the RTX 2080 Ti has made a huge leap to 616GB/s. You also get 11GB of 14Gbps GDDR6 RAM here, which is a big reason why the 2080 Ti is capable of reaching the required speeds for 4K gaming.
Nvidia’s Turing architecture raises the bar for 4K gaming, and that’s even before you take into account whatever benefit may arrive from real-time ray tracing or AI learning in the future. All in all, this GPU is future-proof, exceedingly powerful, and the current holy grail for PC gaming. Gaming at 1440p may be the standard for today, but it won’t be long before everyone will be looking to game at 4K resolutions. So to see what these new cards are capable of with the next generation of gaming, we also tested these same games using the Acer Predator X27 monitor, a $2,000 display that has 4K, HDR, G-Sync, and a 144Hz refresh rate.
With this generation of cards, though, Nvidia is directly competing in that market by selling its Founders Edition cards to consumers, with these cards actually upticked from its reference design. Turing doesn’t bring significant increases in core clock, but the fast GDDR6 memory on the should come in handy for high-resolution 4K gaming. The memory bus width (352-bit) and the amount of memory is the same on both cards.
