The octagon is a classic shape that works so well on a watch.

The GA-2100SU-A1JF is my favorite variation with a screen-printed camouflage pattern on top of the bezel. The Casio G-Shock has historically been a watch that I haven’t been able to connect with. Well it’s the current darling of our Instagram feed and I have been exploiting its beauty and popularity at every possible chance. It photographs real well, it looks striking on wrist and I’ve enjoyed wearing it out. Over the past year a massive range of new models have been released g shock watch and I nearly took the plunge on some jellyfish translucent numbers but at the last minute pulled back. I’ve dropped small bucks along the way though on some other Casios but never from the G-SHOCK line. My G history has been quite short, spanning maybe only a year and a half at best.
The blackout GA A1, one of three debut models from 2019, is still widely sold out and unavailable. The new GA-2110SU-3A (GA2110SU-3A in the U.S.) has been selling out quickly at some American retailers. Based on my own experience and the reactions of others, the reasons are very simple. Can’t remember another model that has variants with hardware differences like that. Move the day of week arc to the 6 position and the LCD up to the 12 and make it all on the one line so the hand don’t obscure vision.
Most obviously, there is the resemblance to the famous Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. The CasiOak’s bezel has an octagonal edge that in its proportions and softness unavoidably conjures AP’s icon. Nor can you help but read the Royal Oak’s integrated bracelet into the way that the CasiOak’s strap meets its case. But this G-Shock also has a host of features that tap into broader notions of good taste that prevail within the watch world.
