The GA-2100SU-1A with camo bezel and the green and black GA-2110SU-3A are new releases in the U.S. and are available at several retailers. Also new, but not released in the U.S., is the yellow and black GA-2110SU-9A that was released in Japan, Asia, Europe, and Australia. baby g shock We wouldn’t be surprised to see more GA-2100 models released in 2020. The GA-2100 series appears to be G-Shock’s most successful new model launch since the GMW-B5000. The blackout GA A1, one of three debut models from 2019, is still widely sold out and unavailable.

As is known from the “Sumerian Farmer’s Almanac”, after the flood season and after the Spring equinox and the Akitu or New Year Festival, using the canals, farmers would flood their fields and then drain the water. After drying, they plowed, harrowed, and raked the ground three times, and pulverized it with a mattock, before planting seed. Unfortunately, the high evaporation rate resulted in a gradual increase in the salinity of the fields.

The Sumerians were great creators, nothing proving this more than their art. Sumerian artifacts show great detail and ornamentation, with fine semi-precious stones imported from other lands, such as lapis lazuli, marble, and diorite, and precious metals like hammered gold, incorporated into the design. The most widespread material in Sumer was clay, as a result many Sumerina objects are made of clay. Metals such as gold, silver, copper, and bronze, along with shells and gemstones, were used for the finest sculpture and inlays.

It was believed that when people died, they would be confined to a gloomy world of Ereshkigal, whose realm was guarded by gateways with various monsters designed to prevent people entering or leaving. The dead were buried outside the city walls in graveyards where a small mound covered the corpse, along with offerings to monsters and a small amount of food. Human sacrifice was found in the death pits at the g shock protection Ur royal cemetery where Queen Puabi was accompanied in death by her servants. These deities formed a core pantheon; there were additionally hundreds of minor ones. Sumerian gods could thus have associations with different cities, and their religious importance often waxed and waned with those cities’ political power. The gods were said to have created human beings from clay for the purpose of serving them.

Other than that though each and every perspective, the 2100A has impressed me a lot and I hope you too would be impressed. The G-shock GA-2100 series is available in three variants, All Black (GA A1), black and white dial (GA A), and All Red (GA2100-4A). Let’s start with the shape, the GA2100-1a1 appeared on the gram and elsewhere online, and the case shape and dial just grabbed my eyes. Blacked out with darkened lumes, inverted LCD, and that octagon bezel, it just looked stunningly beautiful.

And of course it lights up by pressing the clearly labeled “light” button at 2 o’clock. The ancient Sumerian king list includes the early dynasties of several prominent cities from this period. The first set of names on the list is of kings said to have reigned before a major flood occurred. These early names may be fictional, and include some legendary and mythological figures, such as Alulim and Dumizid. Dial / watch face of the GA A Casio GShockIn the detail of the dial on the GA A you can see how the white indices and the hands really pop on the dark background. The all black and all red models will be slightly more difficult to read but still legible.

Part of this is an illusion – the strap starts tapering almost immediately, making the horizon of the north and south poles of the GA-2100 disappear along with it. Still, that optical effect has a real impact on the wearing experience. See, when it comes to watches that I’m actually willing to throw down cold hard cash for, I tend more toward the conservative. There is no doubt that the similarity has garnered the GA-2100 a lot of attention online, which gave it more publicity than other recent models.

The whole watch comes in at just over 50 grams, which is insane for a watch. I have managed to surprise myself with the joy of such simple wrist-worn fun. I’ve also enjoyed wearing the only watch in the house with a retrograde display for the weekdays, a proper world timer, 200m depth rating and all the other functions we simply take for granted. In short, the Casioak is a technological marvel spiced up with cheap fun – for about $220AUD it offers value with a capital V. I am seriously impressed.
