Weber Q 1200 Red Liquid Mini Portable Tabletop Propane Gas Outdoor Grill + Reviews

The regulator is integrated into the body and employs an infinite controller that is easily adjusted between clearly marked low, medium, and high settings. The body and the lid of 1000 is made of cast aluminum, making it durable as well as lightweight. The burner, on the other hand, is made from high-grade stainless steel, while the iron-cast cooking grates are coated with porcelain for additional protection. If this was not enough, Weber has reinforced nylon frame with glass, making this grill quite tough. The Weber Q 1200 Portable Gas Grill gives you an even better backyard, tailgate, camp cooking, or RV experience, plus a fun flash of color!

We strive for the perfect balance of workplace and community to create a fun, enjoyable environment for all of our employees. BBQGuys does more than test and sell grills — we show you how to use them, too. Our experts provide the recipes and skills you need to be a grill master. I also own a Weber Q2200, which I have not done a review on, but I did write a review on its older model, the Weber Q220, which you can find here.

Our experts test thousands of products each year using thoughtful test plans that bring out key performance differences between competing products. And, to assure complete independence, we buy all the products we test ourselves. Just real, honest, side-by-side testing and comparison. It just so happened that while I was testing the grill, my boyfriend had an off-site weber genesis 2 event at work. Instead of just ordering a pizza, he and his coworkers decided to have a parking lot cookout at lunchtime, and I offered to let them use the Weber to test its portability. He packed up the grill in the bed of his truck, and while he was surprised at its weight—which is more than 40 pounds—he really liked that it felt sturdy and durable.

Similar to previous models, Q3200 has been constructed the best elements for increased toughness, sturdiness, and durability. It has two stainless burners, cast-iron cooking grates that have been enameled with porcelain, cast-aluminum body, and glass-reinforced nylon frame. Additionally, the cooking grates are split, allowing you to swap them with optional griddles. 3200 grill offers the largest cooking space in the whole series. With 393 square inches of cooking space, you can cook much more at the same time. However, its larger capacity increases its dimensions to 55.5 x 50.2 x 30 inches, which reduces its portability.

With either of these models, Weber gives you a practical solution. If you have a small family, this unit could definitely be your starter grill. The first portable grill I ever bought was a Weber Q100, the older version of today’s Weber Q1000. I bought it when I started this site back in 2011, and it actually was the reason I created this website. The stand has a tank screen to keep the bottle from view.

One of the things that’s missing is a built-in thermometer, but you can always buy your own. Despite its large frame, the Q 1200 only sports 189 square inches of grill space. While this measurement objectively lands in the middle of the grills we tested, it tends to be plenty of room for most travel-cooking needs. If you are just grilling up the meat portion, it is enough to cook 3-4 servings; if you are cooking just for two, it is ample room to grill up both meat and veggies. While it is incredibly easy to use, porcelain-enameled cast iron is meant to be treated with a level of respect commensurate with its cooking performance. Unlike a regular grill surface, you never want to use a wire brush, which will destroy the naturally non-stick coating.
