The first thing that stands out about the 360 Eye is its tall, narrow stance. Apparently, narrow furniture is a greater barrier for robot vacuums than low-profile obstacles. The 360 Eye definitely won’t fit in the toe kick of your kitchen cabinets, but it might do a better job cleaning under the dining room table and chairs.
Robot vacuums like the Rydis H68 Pro, Deebot, Neato Botvac, and Samsung PowerBot are already working to dethrone Roomba—and a couple of them could actually do it. Probably my favorite feature of this new Dyson is their Link App. You can install it right on your smart phone, giving you an intuitive interface to link up with the Eye. See when your robot vacuum is cleaning, how much progress it has made, and even view a map showing where it has been in your home. Watch training videos and view maintenance information right at your fingertips. Set the schedule with a few quick swipes in the application and it will be off and running.
The iRobot Roomba 980 has also dropped the ball when it comes to overall performance. However, the 980 does make sure it picks up as much as possible and does a fairly decent job. The camera navigation is a lot better than expected, and it doesn’t have as much difficulty finding its docking station as previous models did. The 360 Eye, on the other hand, uses tank tracks to be able to traverse any terrain. It does an excellent job on hard floors as well as high pile carpet.
You can get much cheaper, great performing robot vacuum cleaners such as the Roborock S6 Pure, Roborock S4 Max and the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge.
