Nvidias Gtx 1660 Is An Affordable Gpu Thats Better Than The Gtx 1060

On April 22, 2019, coinciding with the announcement of the GTX 1650, Nvidia announced laptops equipped with built-in GTX 1650 chipsets. TU117 doesn’t support Nvidia Optical Flow, which is useful for motion gtx 1090 interpolation software (SmoothVideo Project, etc.). The 16 series, commercialized within the same timeframe as the 20 series, aims to cover the entry level to midrange market, not addressed by the latter.

GeForce GTX SUPER Series graphics cards are powered by the NVIDIA Turing GPU architecture. Get 1.4X power efficiency over the previous generation for a faster, cooler, and quieter gaming experience. The gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb Ti and GTX 1660 are roughly similar in terms of clock speeds – in fact the latter offers higher base and boost frequencies. However, the more expensive card offers more Cuda cores as well as faster GDDR6 as opposed to GDDR5 memory, meaning the GTX 1660 trails in memory bandwidth at 192.1GB/sec compared to 288.1GB/sec. With a promised 15% performance boost over the GTX GB and up to 30% over the similarly-priced 3GB model of that card, the GTX 1660 still has what it takes to be an excellent 1080p HD gaming card, on paper at least.

It’s hard to predict exact pricing but considering all regular cards are priced at $230 or more, we are working under the assumption that the 1660 Super will come in at $240. At this price the Super is better value than existing GTX 1660 models and much better value than the 1660 Ti. For those of you not keeping tabs, we now have the GTX 1660 for $220, the GTX 1660 Ti for $280, the RTX 2060 for $350 and the RTX 2060 Super for $400. In the price range between $200 and $400 there were already 4 GeForce options, but as of today we now have 6.

ToF camera is a special purpose, low-cost smart solution with novel 3D imaging capture technology. The ToF camera includes high-performance advanced analytics as a standard feature, improving measurement accuracy and performance when compared to the current generation of RGB and stereoscopic cameras. At current prices, the $229 GTX 1660 Super is $50 cheaper than the GTX 1660 Ti.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super is a fantastic card for budget gamers. Yet, it offers that boost in performance while still staying in the budget graphics card range that makes a card like this so attractive. Essentially, you don’t have to spend much more for that extra bit of performance. The Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB Video Card (GV-N206SAORUS-8GC) delivers superior graphics rendering performance for high-end desktop PCs used by professional creators and gamers alike.

Nvidia announced its new GTX 1660 graphics card today, driving the cost down even further for those looking for an affordable GPU. This model starts at $219 / £199, and it will be released on March 14th from Nvidia’s partners, including EVGA, Asus, and more. As the new GTX 1660 Super cards are a mid-generation kicker of a mainstream card, there aren’t any reference cards to speak of here.

Here you can see the user rating of the graphics card, as well as rate it yourself. This is probably the most ubiquitous benchmark, part of Passmark PerformanceTest suite. It gives the graphics card a thorough evaluation under various load, providing four separate benchmarks for Direct3D versions 9, 10, 11 and 12 , and few more tests engaging DirectCompute capabilities. But for this nominally cheaper Nvidia card its current gaming performance makes it a far more worthy purchase than the RX 590 for a gamer on a budget. There is, however, still the point that the RX 580 isn’t thatfar off the performance of either the RX 590 or GTX 1660, and just about undercuts both cards in terms of its pricing. I would say that this Gigabyte GTX 1660 card is quite heavily overclocked compared with the reference clocked GPUs, despite it sharing the same MSRP at launch.

I saw a similar 10fps boost in Shadow of the Tomb Raider as well, with the GTX 1660 managing an average of 51fps on Highest with its less demanding SMAA anti-aliasing enabled over the GTX 1060’s 40fps. When we first saw the specifications for the GTX 1660 Super, we didn’t know what to make of it. The 75% increase in memory bandwidth is huge, but ultimately if the GPU wasn’t memory starved to begin with, that would just end up being a big number on paper that wouldn’t translate into meaningful gains in the real world. Kingdom Come Deliverance has the 1660 Super performing very well again, beating the base model by a 9% margin to come in just 3 fps behind the 1660 Ti. That was until later in the year when the Radeon RX 590 dropped from around $300 to nearly $200. By slashing prices AMD has managed to remain relevant in the budget and mainstream GPU market with their older RX 500 series GPUs, and in fact managed to become the go to option below $200.

Priced at £259/$279, GTX 1660 Ti is a direct replacement for GTX 1060, delivering a substantial increase in gaming frame-rates, often exceeding the power of the outgoing GTX 1070. The GTX 1660 still came out as the faster card every time, but the improvements offered were arguably so small that you probably wouldn’t notice them without the aid of a frame rate counter. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super is based on the same TU116 GPU as both the GTX 1660 and the GTX 1660 Ti, but has the same 1,408 CUDA cores as the original 1660. The big difference over the original graphics card is the bump up to GDDR6 video memory, resulting in a boost in memory speed from 8Gbps to 14Gbps – that’s just as fast as the VRAM in the massively powerful RTX 2080 Ti.
