You can set up an extension cord and leave the tool plugged in, keeping it available anytime you need it. It just doesn’t cut as quickly as some of the other brands I have used. Don’t get me wrong, it works on everything I need it to do. But I absolutely love the quick change feature and all the blades it came with. It might be one of those tools I have for years and years, but I’m not too hopeful it will hold up that long.

I just want to let people know that this is not a variable speed tool. You may be able to control the speed with some magical power but I have now such thing at my disposal so i consider this a two speed tool, off and on. I sort of think the tool landed in the hands of the marketing team at DeWalt and they said “hey look, when you pull the trigger a little it goes slower! ” It’s a fact that it’s speed changes depending on how much you pull the trigger but there is no way to control it unless you’re just sitting at a table somewhere holding it.
It also can zip through softwood quickly and easily at a high speed. Thought the tool was good for used in those hard to reach areas to cut wood & metal. Will continue to replace my Dewalts with better quality tools going forward. I bought this as I wasn’t able to find the blades for the Master Mechanic I have.
This piece utilizes a the bolt and washer type connection similar to my old tool, but it snugged up much tighter. It allowed me to use the off-brand blade without any issue. Like my other 20V dewalt tools experiences the battery runs seemingly forever and is well balanced in the hand. This button opens a dialog that displays additional images for this product with the option to zoom in or out.
Lastly, it’s priced considerably lower than the bare tool , which is typically priced at $139. So, you get the tool with a battery and charger, but for a price that’s less than for just the bare tool. First, you get a lower capacity compact battery – either 1.3Ah or 1.5Ah.
