Having never looked after a pool before I had trouble keeping it clean the first season but then I spoke to my local pool shop. 2 cups of clorine every 2 days and clean the filter cartridge every weekas a ruff guide . Make a whirlpool every now and then and when it settles all the bottom dirt clumps in the middle of the pool and use your garden hose as a vaccum to suck it out. My pool stayed crystal clear all season with the standard kit it ca… I also cannot stress enough that Intex metal-frame pools must be set-up on ground that is extremely level and that attaining this may require extra work and costs.

The sand filter does an outstanding job cleaning the bulk of the debris in the pool. We ran it daily, and it kept the water crystal clear. The pool does not come with a maintenance kit so we had to purchase one for skimming and vacuuming. We chose the Intex Deluxe pool maintenance kit, which connects to the built-in filtration system. The kit also comes with a scrub brush to clean the sides and a skimmer to clean debris from the surface.

You’ll want to upgrade the pump to keep maintenance down to a minimum. These pools don’t have to be taken down during the winter. They can be partially drained to allow ice to expand, and winterized. However, if you live in a frigid climate, you may want to take it down and put it in storage somewhere. It sucks debris off the top of the pool and keeps it nice and clean.

It successfully stood up to a family of eager swimmers, and the sand filter was outstanding at keeping the pool clean all summer. The Intex Ultra Frame is rugged, but the company recommends you drain the pool and disassemble it for the winter. Storing the pool inside is strongly recommended if you live in areas where the temperature dips below 41 degrees.
