I ended up returning and buying a Louisiana pellet grill from Costco . Now, for the last pre-cook step, keep the doors open and turn the grill back on. Then, set the grill to 500F and let it ride for a good 30 minutes. First, without adding any pellets, remove all the grates, and turn the grill on to 200F degrees. Look to make sure the auger is rotating, and then place your hand above the fire pot just to make sure you feel the fan blowing and the heat.
