dewalt multi tool 70

Review

It isn’t that loud, more of a digital noise that their other Dewalt brushless tools though. It is a pain trying to find attachments unless you have the adapter with you. So if you use it on jobs or for a living buy dewalt blades and attachments cause you will lot find them at homedepot or lowes. I wanted to a cordless model, so I decided to buy the DeWalt, the #1 Best Seller seller on Amazon.com, with a 90% five-star rating. The version I bought is the DEWALT DCS355D1 20V XR Lithium-Ion Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit which came with a bag and a bunch of accessories.

Sounds like the motor is working really hard while cutting. These oscillating tools are powered by DEWALT batteries of a compatible series and matching voltage. Tools using lower-voltage batteries are generally lighter and more compact but less powerful than tools using higher-voltage batteries. The mount also accepts an adapter dewalt tools for blades that are oscillating interface system compatible, but may not allow tool-free changes for these blades. I challenged the multi-tool during my project, by performing plunge cuts inside the wall cavity through 2×4’s. I completely cut through the boards in four places; two locations were actually doubled 2×4’s.

Even though I had to purchase a blade for cutting concrete siding, it worked flawlessly. My only complaint, is that the quick release spring is nice, but when you have arthurites in the wrist, it makes it difficult to compress, hold and swap out the blades. But then so does using the allen wrench required with the MM tool. It’s noisy but it cuts well and has plenty of power for most things you use a multi tool for. Haven’t used any of my Feins or Makita cordless since I got the Dewalt. With the right attachment, you can use your oscillating tool to cut, file, trim, and shape tile, even cutting gentle curves or other shapes that go beyond straight lines.

I loved the concept, but I did have issues with the tool itself. Blade changes were a pain and I had to periodically re-tighten them the with an allen wrench. I decided to replace it because it got really hot under extended use, feel the heat through work gloves hot. Still, I got a decent life span from dewalt Hand tools the tool, considering the price. Whether you’re cutting through some metal in a tight space, or crafting a custom wood project, this is THE tool. In no event will Free Delivery benefits be available to you if reside outside the delivery service area of a Participating Beta Test Program Retailer.

The tool can also run at a gentle 6,000 opm when a soft touch is needed on woodwork, glass, or other fragile material. The 18-volt LXT battery is sold separately and only takes 30 minutes to charge. The ergonomic grip paired with the 3.2-degree oscillation angle cuts down on arm fatigue and allows for serious cutting and sanding at a rapid pace.

But if you’re looking for an oscillating tool with the power to cut through metal, even metal pipes, turn instead to the Rockwell Sonicrafter Oscillating Tool . Despite its power and variable speeds, it is fairly lightweight and easy on your hands and wrists. An oscillating tool with variable speed control allows you to use your blades for as long as possible and preserve your workpiece. Using a metal blade at a high speed will create far too much heat and friction.

I haven’t seen a quiet oscillating tool, but in my experience Fein has fewer vibrations. Possible dumb question as I have batteries everywhere, and suspect most of us have more than one, but have you tried different batteries? It did the exact same thing with various tools (light came on briefly but didn’t power the tool otherwise), due to it being unable to charge properly. Of course, it was slower than a reciprocating saw would have done, chewing full-speed. I probably wouldn’t reach for this tool in an open stud-wall situation with both tools on hand, but that’s not what it’s made for. I could fit the thing inside the wall cavity, with enough room for my fingers to grip it.

The rubber overmold grip at the front, middle, and rear helps to reduce vibrations. If you’re looking for a quality oscillating tool, the GOP40-30C from Bosch Power Tools should be on your list. This oscillating tool has a 4-amp motor and an adjustable speed range between 8,000 and 20,000 oscillations per minute, allowing you to dial in the right speed for the task at hand. It has a no-touch, tool-less blade change system that snaps on the blade and provides more contact area between the tool and blade than other systems. This increased contact area promotes torque transfer from the machine through the blade and into the workpiece, cutting faster with less vibration. Now that you understand some of the key features to consider when choosing the best oscillating tool, you’re ready to start shopping.
