There is no doubt that the similarity has garnered the GA-2100 a lot of attention online, which gave it more publicity than other recent models. While it is definitely a distinctive bezel, it is a smaller and less obtrusive one than other G-Shock watches. This gives the watch a more conservative look, while still retaining signature G-Shock elements. The dial of the GA-2100 offers a refined style that isn’t too busy and looks both contemporary and timeless. Overall, it simply looks classier and more refined than other analog-digital G-Shock models in the same price range. All the functions can take a bit of time to get used to, but they are otherwise quite straightforward.
I do like the world-time function as it displays the time of oddball timezones such as India and it’s handy when scheduling meetings. The manageable size of this watch is also a big plus as mentioned above. Can’t help but chuckle every time I strap this one on…. If you have owned a G-Shock or Casio AQ Tough Solar analogue/digital watch then the new 5611 Module hand baby g shock operation will be intuitive and familiar. Select the traditional ADJ setting on the digital screen, adjust the time to the chosen value and the hands automatically match the inverted LCD display. Those needing a more readable LCD display will be better off with another G-Shock, but will have to settle with either an all-digital model or a larger analog-digital one.
That watch needed a re-casing, but the Casioak can take some punishment and, if too damaged, just pop on another shroud and strap set. The all-black sombre elegance of the GA A1ER, the classic Casioak, pairs well even with a nice olive green shirt and tailored chinos. The baby g shock hidden benefit of slim wrists, is the ability to get even quite chunky watches under a nice cuff and, for me, these types of style contrasts rule. OK, so the business meeting changed to another bloody Teams video chat , but no one knew, as the sharp shirt remained.
The GA-2100, on the other hand, with its octagonal shape, is easy and comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time. The reason for this, I think, is that the top and bottom of the watch are significantly more narrow than the wide middle section. The watch feels small at the most sensitive parts of the wrist, but expands in its mid-section. It’s similar to wearing an oval watch, like a Patek Philippe Ellipse. Part of this is an illusion – the strap starts tapering almost immediately, making the horizon of the north and south poles of the GA-2100 disappear along with it. Still, that optical effect has a real impact on the wearing experience.
At first glance, I didn’t like the Casioak style, but I do find it all the more wearable than the many novelties I’ve had pass through my hands from Casio this year. After checking my analog G-Shock manuals, I have to agree with Chad and Darren that the 2100 range is as shock resistant as any other G-Shock. I’m glad I researched or I might have not considered this range which looks better on my smaller wrists.
If a dealer is proven to be selling counterfeit watches, we reserve the right to take appropriate disciplinary action. I’d sworn never to buy anything larger than 42 mm. Then the CasiOaks started appearing and for 104 euros, why not give one a try? My g shock protection mustard yellow GA-2110SU-9AJF is simply fun to wear. I like the color, the playful dial, the lack of a second hand, the lume and the way the minute hand makes a little jump every 20 seconds. Greg is a long-time watch lover based in upstate New York.

The G-Shock carbon core was never a concern for me. Its spring bar failure that ultimately leads to loss is what you need to worry about.
A fanned rubber strap takes the torque load off the actual spring bar in the event of going full scorpion down an icy landing in the terrain park. A few of my coworkers thought that the CasiOak was a “cheap Wal-Mart watch”. The tang buckle is about as cheap as they come. The strap was what I expected in this price range. Casio marketed the GA-2100 series as a slim and tough watch.
