Lancome

The first thing I have to say in this review is I absolutely love the packaging. I’ve seen complaints about the bottle, but I personally love the design. The sprayer also pushes out a very fine mist which is always a plus. If the Idole were longer lasting, it would be a divine perfume.

However, it’s been sunnier and more humid where I live lately and I decided to wear it for the first time since early spring. To my surprise, the pear note took over the entire composition and turned into the sweetest, smoothest, juiciest ripe fruit. I didn’t know Idole could do that. It’s all about pear now, and oh my does she smell good. I couldn’t stop smelling my clothes, and the silage was otherwordly.

So some of us need something gorgeous that we can count on for every day or a signature fragrance. Some of us can’t afford to spend over $300 on a bottle of perfume (ahem.. I’m looking at YOU Delina!!!) Overhyped.. The thought of them just piss me RIGHT off! I HIGHLY recommend Idole though.. As close to perfect as it gets, Idole is just my type.

Everyone who I ask to smell it..loves it. I think a lot of people on here take the “art” of fragrance really seriously and thats why people are so critical genifique but I love it. Yes….it smells similar to a lot of other frags but if you’re here to just find a pretty sent then I don’t think this will disappoint.

At first spray, I wasn’t keen on the pear note, it was too harsh, but this settles after about 15 minutes and it turns into a lovely fresh rose and jasmine perfume. The vanilla isn’t obvious at all, but it is there adding some sweetness to the base. It smells Lancome makeup nice, but a bit chemically. I tend to like simpler more modern fragrances I’m a fan of rose scents, and the initial scent is quite nice, but nothing special. Idole is a modern chypre that centres on an olfactory dynamic powered by rose, jasmine and patchouli.

It was love at first sniff, sometimes I just want a really lovely scent like this. It’s a strange one, it really reminds me of something from the 90s. I used to wear or smell something like it often. It evokes mental images of the past but I still can’t quite put my finger on it and say what it smells like.

I find the fragrance very very successful and noble, because the rose is for me the queen of flowers.
