Casio Casio G
Until you learn to press the light and mode buttons at the same time, momentarily moving the hands out of the way – but be careful, this can take anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds to do. The hands are poorly lumed and the hour markers are not treated. Instead, you get a LED light to illuminate the dial from an angle. The left side of the dial features a day display with a hand that points to the current day.
It’s slim for its ilk – at 11.8mm, it’s the most slender that G-Shock currently makes. It’s also a predominantly analogue piece, with two hands and a physical day indicator. The Casio ”CasiOak” GA A is equipped with the Casio 5611 module. As discussed above, this module displays analog and digital time, stopwatch, world time, perpetual calendar, has five daily alarms, and a countdown timer.
The new GA-2100, dubbed the CasiOak due to its case’s resemblance to an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, breaks away from the square-shaped case. While G-Shocks have been analog before, the GA-2100 presents the handset front and center, overtaking the digital display, giving the watch a familiarity that mechanical watch wearers will love. The watch comes presented on a black integrated resin strap which of course goes very well with the design of the watch. A nice feature is that it has a quick-release mechanism that allows you to remove the straps with ease. This variant of the GA-2100 flies under the radar with a stealthed-out aesthetic featuring greyed hands against a dial that looks like it was 3D printed.
The estimated battery life of G-Shock GA-2100 is 3 years. As solid as it looks, this tough series has specifications that makes it more distinctive and appealing. Being Shock and 200-meter water resistance, baby g shock this series has a tough mineral glass that protects it from dirt and mud. The G-shock GA-2100 series is available in three variants, All Black (GA A1), black and white dial (GA A), and All Red (GA2100-4A).
Some may be shocked by its huge size which is bigger than most other G-shock watches, but the good news is that it doesn’t wear as big as its dimensions stated on paper may give the impression of. Much of this is thanks to the fact that its slim size allows it to wear comfortably on the wrist despite its big diameter. What makes the GA-2100 extremely compelling is that even among the G-Shock ranks, $99 is still the first stop on the way in (if you’re looking at list prices – we’ve seen this watch listed by re-sellers at triple list). It’s not only an affordable G-Shock, it’s the most affordable one in the entire range at $99, and that includes purely digital and ana-digi models.
I really love it if it have the seconds hand on the Analog portion of the watch . The GA-2100SU-1A with camo bezel and the green and black GA-2110SU-3A are new releases in the U.S. and are available at several retailers. Also new, but not released in the U.S., is the yellow and black GA-2110SU-9A that was released in Japan, Asia, Europe, and Australia. We wouldn’t be surprised to see more GA-2100 models released in 2020.
