If you were using V-brakes before, you’ll be astonished to find out how much better braking with discs is. We especially like the adjustable stem and the padded saddle with a suspension seat post that will completely eliminate road vibrations. Schwinn Discover offers 21 gears with entry-level SRAM components, basic V-brakes, and really strong and light alloy rims. It also has front and rear fenders that will keep water and dirt off of your body when it starts raining.
Besides Schwinn, now considered a low- to mid-level brand, Pacific operates Mongoose and its well-regarded line of mountain and BMX bikes, while Dorel manages the higher-end Cannondale, GT, Charge and Caloi marques.
