The Carbon

Additional features like a calorie calculator, automatic time adjustment, phone finder, and world time for over 300 cities make this function-packed watch even more of a powerhouse. Another color option in this series is the G Shock Mud Master GSG-100-1A3DR which is designed in olive green color with a beige dial to enhance readability. The color combo is available for a competitive price.G Shock Mud Master GSG-100-1A3DR Price starts from $236. This minimal black dialer with Khaki resin band watch is priced just right according to its specification.

The face is surrounded by a resin bezel with a carbon fiber sheet visible through the transparent top layer. This new shock resistant structure protects modules with a carbon fiber reinforced g shock protection resin case. The Aviation line tends to have a more traditional design as Casio decided to use analog hands, but I consider this a plus in terms of better readability in harsh environments.

There are times when you don’t want to use the LED night to preserve night vision so being able to accurately know you are reading the dial ‘square’ is important. The watch was super easy to pair with the Bluetooth app and has a ‘cloned watch’ useable screen where what you see on the app screen is what your watch is doing. You can use the app to change settings like units, timezones and personal data to make the step counter more accurate.

However, it’s left out of a watch that is marketed to spend its life outside and will force you to change them roughly every 2 years. Like most G-Shocks, the Mudmaster comes will all the standard features, a stopwatch feature, 5 alarms (with snooze!) and 31 world times. Maybe even the extreme sports guys wouldn’t use these features, but they’re there and fun to use in daily life. Like the Yeti SP5C Bike, the Casio is made for extreme conditions and abuse. It takes its name from the Mud Resist system of gaskets in the pipes that keep mud and dust out of the watch.

The buttons are protected against the entry of mud, to ensure that essential functions are available at all times. The watch offers vibration resistance to withstand vibration from rough road drive or other heavy duty operations. These features give the watch toughness that the user can depend on in various challenging situations. Speaking about the casing and materials it has a high-quality mineral glass window that tends to be tough and scratch resistant as opposed to the sapphire crystal that is more shock resistant.

Once, while having just finished a spirited run at 25 mph downhill, he noticed that the watch was missing. Where it was, only the forest knew, and it was now too dark to look for it. Returning the same trail with his trusty Blue Heeler, Rocky, they stopped midway near some water to let the dog fill up.

At first encounter, the Mudmaster’s aggressive size seems to suggest its purpose as rugged equipment and just how much tech is packed inside it. Colors and textures that reference military or industrial themes further communicate that this watch means business. I’m picky when it comes to the ana-digi watch dials I like, and I think Casio did an excellent job here. The “negative-colored” LCD screen is large with clear pixels and offers snappy performance. The analog hands help when needed but are mostly there for performing an ancillary function while allowing you to still know the current time.
