Definitely for a burly and confident man to wear . I’ve gotten a couple compliments from this fragrance and also love it myself . Been wearing this fragrance for 20 years now and will always have a bottle in my collection. Absolute classic real Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt mans fragrance strong and masculine love it. I keep it because I love the bottle and the memories, but I wouldn’t (and couldn’t) wear it anymore. I am wearing it today for the first time after almost 4 months and what an awesome fragrance!
This is a clean, older-style scent, and is very much in my wheelhouse as a result. I’ve always appreciated my barbershops, old schools, and pine scents have always appealed to me. This is a staple fragrance, and I’m happy to own it once again.
Also, the presence of personal body funk (or the dreaded ‘older man smell’) can render this fragrance just a really ugly air pollutant. Once he purchased his own and started to use it, he just didn’t like it as much. Smelling this for the first time was like meeting someone and feeling you had known them your whole life. This resonated with me far more than any other fragrance and I now have almost 50. This is No.1 and only the original Givenchy Gentleman comes remotely close. My Mrs hates it but I keep going back to it for more. Not an everyday one for me it has a time and place and will last me for ages. My parents just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this week and of course he wore Polo when he took mom out to dinner in his best tweed suit.
Initially it’s a blast of pine, but that passes quickly, and then it’s straight up tobacco (to my nose, the wife says “pine”).
