The scent has definitely changed over the years, and I am fortunate to still have a Cosmair 4oz spray and 8oz splash that I will never use up, because I have so many other fragrances in my collection now. However, when I want to go back in time to the greatest green, leathery, mossy performance beast of my Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt young adulthood, I reach for this classic. I haven’t tried the most recent formulation. I hope, for the sake of this legend, that it is better than what has been offered for the previous few years. This seems to contain all the qualities I have been looking for in fragrances like Aramis and Caron Yatagan.
It will create an aura of old man though. I’m thinking 50+ with a limp and a beer belly. Definitely clean shaven, maybe a mustache. I mean, I do like it and will probably buy a bottle, but I have a few years before I get there.
Mainly it seems very green, fresh, and spicy. Women check the cleanliness of men by the odor within the very first seconds. They like it if men smell clean, but not like a lemon. If you have passed that test, she Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt is checking the sexual attraction next, subconsciously. Polo creates a green, clean aura around you, with pine-tree needles, green notes, tobacco, and leather which is very manly without being annoying and dry.
The pine isn’t terribly realistic, but it smells nice. As time goes on, I can pick up powder, leather, and tobacco. Such an outstanding and iconic green classic.
I love it but you have to be in the right mood and the right state of mind for this, a old school swagger. It defiantly has a wisened gentlemanly feel too it. Like a old library or cigar bar or antique store kind of vibe.
6 out of 5 scent when you remind yourself that this was when things were really good and perfume houses were in their ascendancy. Fragrantica is a complete joke at this point. An Intense flanker of this fragrance has been on sale for at least 2 weeks at this point and was announced more than a month ago, and it STILL does not have a page on Fragrantica. polo dress shirts This is a massive fragrance release, but Fragrantica is too busy talking about the “fragrance brands” that are founded from hipsters’ garages in Seattle and Portland every week. I really want to re-experience the vintage version of this that all the boys in school wore the year it came out, but it’s so darn expensive, it’ll have to wait.
20 years later she still swears that she remembers me with this perfume. It’s still her favourite, though I now own a lot of perfumes her eyes light up whenever i wear this one. Today’s version of Polo Green only lasts about 2 hours on me and then it’s a skin scent. The OG lasted for 12 or more hours and it still projected and had great silage through the day. Even though I own multiple versions of Polo throughout it’s life cycle, I still choose the modern formula for my day to day wear. My Cosmair bottles are purely for nostalgia and for the collection.
Every colleague he’s worked with or student he has taught forever associates him with the scent that remains long after he has left the room. Despite the reformulations through the years and new Polo flankers he insists on his green bottle that to him represents the ultimate man’s man, the ideal gentleman in every sense of the word. I wore it uninterrupted throughout my twenties. It now evokes so many memories when I wear it now I just sink into nostalgia. Woody, green, but floral at the same time. It starts bright, leaving trails of grass and moss, before drying into leather and Patchouli, which for me is its dominant note.
