Polo Ralph Lauren Cologne

They mostly smell off and i will proof it to everybody once time travel is invented. I have submitted reviews online at the Dua Brand website and my reviews have not been posted. Therefore, I cannot believe any of the wonderful ralph lauren t shirt reviews stated in the DUA website and I won’t ever buy a DUA fragrance. DUA fragrances cannot be returned, of course. The modern formulation kept the fragrance, but now it is more intimate, much less invasive.

I don’t know why i was not interested in that perfume. Bought a travel spray out of a gift set. I think this is what Quorum wants to smell like but is harsher. Distinct scent for a discerning man.

I am not sure if it is my imagination but it smells much more pleasant that what it did in December. It could be that the contents had to settle or mature in the bottle as is the case with my Aventus and other fragrances. It is almost like the spicy notes are coming through better now as I could mostly only smell a wet green grass note before. So I do think it comes across as a lot more balanced and richer now. First thing that hit me was a blast of tobacco; not the fresh kind, but resinous, dried tobacco. Took me right back to my grandmother’s house, sitting next to her while she smoked.

There is no more iconic bottle in all of perfumery. The original powerhouse formulation would fill the whole room. My father wore this in the 80s, 90s.

It was my only fragrance for 30 years. I have gone through so many bottles, I have lost count. The Warner bottles were the best fragrance ever made.

Women love this one and it is the epitome of masculinity. Several women I’ve been with or past girlfriends express that they love the smell and tend to borrow/keep my clothes that have the scent lingering. I know that sounds corny, but it’s true. The bottle is stunning as well and looks luxurious on your shelf.

The brushed finish accentuates the deep grey color of the metal. On the dial, the watch comes with several well-executed references to the game. They’re interesting Easter eggs for those in the know, but they’re also subtle enough to keep the timepiece from looking gimmicky.

A very manly scent with hints tobacco, I don’t think this would ever go out of fashion, it was Lauren at his best. It’s also a quite aggressive scent so if someone around you doesn’t like it you’re very likely to annoy people wearing this. It’s not outdated in the sense that an older person (I’m 32) could wear it better. It’s outdated in the sense that it smells like something that belongs to a specific era and that’s really not compatible with the contemporary taste. I can imagine men of my age and even younger wearing this really well back in the 80s, but not now. It’s a very interesting and unique classic scent that’s worth trying just for the sake of your fragrance culture.

Never mind the country club image here folks, Polo, because this isn’t gentlemanly games on the Chelsea commons of West London circa 1910. This fragrance is brutal, earthy, dark and danky pine woods like the ones that used to cover all of Northern Europe before the 12th century. Those woods are wet and mossy from the constant fall rain and drizzle, capturing the misty cool morning and the decaying leaves on the ground. This is leafy and dry tobacco rolled up with a bunch of Asian spices just off the ship from Portuguese and Dutch traders back from Malaysia and Indonesia. Italians, Germans and Brits until Polo unleashed this dirty frontiersman like woody monster on the buying public.

1972 marked the opening of Ralph Lauren’s store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California, his first freestanding store. In 1972, Lauren released a short-sleeve cotton shirt in 24 colors. This design, emblazoned with the company’s famed logo—that of a polo player, created by tennis pro René Lacoste—became the brand’s signature look. In 1977 Ralph Lauren Corporation introduced a signature cotton mesh polo shirt in various colours, featuring the polo player logo on the chest. The original Polo has been my father’s signature and preferred scent since its original launch when he was a teenager! Since I was a small child I loved the smell because it IS my daddy.
