Performance wise it is a beast for me. I find that applying some Vaseline on the area and then spraying helps longevity as well (good for your skin, too!). However, I’m youngish so my experience has been positive since most of my peers don’t remember or weren’t around for the 70s or 80s and haven’t smelled this. If anything this cologne gets the most positive reaction from younger women out of all my colognes.
Putting on my quarter zip sweatshirt 2 days after I had taken it off I was immensely surprised to smell the PERFECT dry down of Polo. If there was 1 scent that I would want to smell like, regardless of day, time, season or circumstance, it would be this one. Ultra-hyper masculinity in a bottle. The handsome, fit, complete and versatile man. A traditional man, a loyal man, a good father and a loving husband. This is my absolute favorite winter fragrance.
I really don’t know about the reformulation. The bottle I have is recent and superb. Let me put it this way, if it is reformulated just think of it as a new perfume and it would stand head and shoulders above any new release or any of the new Tom Ford Fougeres. I will always have Polo in my collection, even if I decided to shrink it down to only 10 fragrances. Polo is one of the easiest scents in the world to overspray. I think we’ve all been in the room with a guy who wore too much of this on too warm of a day.
Once he purchased his own and started to use it, he just didn’t like it as much. Smelling this for the first time was like meeting someone and feeling you had known them your whole life. This resonated with me far more than any polo dress shirts other fragrance and I now have almost 50. This is No.1 and only the original Givenchy Gentleman comes remotely close. Givenchy Gentleman got me into fragrance collecting, but Polo has turned me into a fragrance youtuber.
I prefer the modern, toned down, version. I remember back in the 80’s and 90’s that I wouldn’t buy a bottle because it was too intense, too much sillage. It was easy to overdo it and end up offending people. I loved the smell then, but I was never bold enough to buy a bottle. Made from soft cotton jersey, this comfortable sleep shirt is styled with a “Polo RL-67” print along the left side. The watch features a large 42mm case, but it’s made from titanium, which should help it feel light and unencumbered on the wrist.
Polo By Ralph Lauren is a premium clothing brand that develops fashionable attire for men, women, and children. This luxury brand’s most notable products are its men’s collection of collared Polo shirts, T-shirts, and sweaters emblazoned with the memorable Polo logo. Maybe you’ve gone all in on this wild style era, and now fear that Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt a classic blue shirt won’t fit in with the rest of your trippy, balls-to-the-wall wardrobe. If that’s the case, Alessandro Michele’s got your back. It’s weird enough to turn some heads, but not so much to strip the shirt of its timelessness. By 1969, the Manhattan department store Bloomingdale’s sold Lauren’s men line exclusively.
I’m not sure why this scent is so polarizing, but it definitely can be too overwhelming for some occasions. It’s just such an amazing green leathery tobacco-ey scent that smells like money to me. I still have about 5 mL left in my 1995 bottle, so I can’t judge the current formulation.
This is a clean, older-style scent, and is very much in my wheelhouse as a result. I’ve always appreciated my barbershops, old schools, and pine scents have always appealed to me. This is a staple fragrance, and I’m happy to own it once again.
It lost that something special, those truly rich and deep notes. Todays version, it’s quite obvious that the quality has been stripped from it. Very similar to Paco Rabanne pour homme but it lasts much longer and doesn’t have that gross soapy opening pour homme does. I wear this a few times a month but with the current formulation I can get 12 hours out of this.
The newer one is focused on the cigarette “ash” and has a lighter green pine note . It opens up green but definitely it’s dark green and ashy. Soon the tobacco joins – I’ve heard some saying it smells like a cigarette ash tray – I don’t mind. The drydown polo dress shirts is dark – heavy leather with woods and tobacco but still with pine note infused. The opening is quite harsh and reminds me of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. I get mainly a synthetic pine note that seems to become more natural smelling as the fragrance evolves.
