Men’s Minimalist Watch Ga2100

Those needing a more readable LCD display will be better off with another G-Shock, but will have to settle with either an all-digital model or a larger analog-digital one. Personally, I find the GA A1 to be a fine daily watch, but only if I’m using it for the sole purpose of telling the time. If I need to use the digital functions or need to check the time at night a lot, then I would prefer to use another G-Shock. (Other GA-2100 models would be better suited for nighttime use than the GA A1.) For me, the GA-2100 could never be my only watch, but I’m happy to have it as part of my small collection. On the left there is a retrograde style day of the week arc, followed by a two hand central analogue time display. The hands are black with dark grey lumed inners which really do beam a lot of light well after dark, something that truly surprised me.

So how does this sub-$100 watch manage to charm like the best of them? To start, it’s the thinnest G-Shock currently in production. The case is 11.8mm tall, and even more, it wraps around the wrist in a way that makes it feel even thinner. Its plastic case is practically weightless if you’re used to wearing an even a modestly proportioned 316L case.

They later released a more 90s throwback range that are black with purple/blue and green/red. The Casio G-Shock GA-2100 range comes in three main colors – all black , black with some gray accents, and all red.

From the dive watch enthusiasts who haven’t touched an ocean in their life to the armchair businessmen wearing their dress watches while eating a burrito – watches are often an extension of your personality more than a tool. Every watch has a relationship between the dial and the case. The GA-2100 is interesting because the dial and case seem to all be part of the same object, as opposed to being distinct elements that make up a complete timepiece. Here is where the Royal Oak comparison actually makes the most sense – that’s a watch whose style is built on a harmony between the angular case and its integrated bracelet.

The GA-2100’s slimmer case profile is matched by a strap that has been streamlined to match the rest of the watch’s proportions. This, in one sense, is a subtle difference, but changing up anything on a watch that has direct contact with your body will tend to have major consequences when it comes to real world wearability. What we have here is functionally a time only G-Shock – I have almost zero interest in becoming more comfortable with the little screen.

After all, black hands and indices against a black dial aren’t the best combinations if you’re looking for legibility. This variant of the GA-2100 flies under the radar with a stealthed-out aesthetic featuring greyed hands against a dial that looks like it was 3D printed. But don’t worry, this is a G-Shock after all, and you can still display the time on the digital screen.

It gives a good feel on hands, and not like the other G-shock’s that feel bulky on hands. The strap is really of high-quality rubber and it gives a premium look. Overall, although the dial is quite busy, you have to keep in mind there is a lot of fit on this dual-time watch when you have all those functions, and Casio has done a great job keeping it clean. These G-Shock watches also come in a range of eye-catching colors from the all-black model shown above, to bright red, black with green and red accents, black with bright purple and a whole lot more.

The backlight is a dial illumination that allows you to use this watch in the dark. There are a few features missing from the CasiOak that buyers are most likely going to be looking for. The most common question I was asked about this watch leading up to the review was whether it had radio sync and Bluetooth connectivity.

This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated. Every watch available in Watchard is original, has a manufacturer’s or Polish distributor’s warranty, original packaging and instructions.
