The welded aluminum frame is light but firm, in addition to being beautifully finished. An all-Shimano drivetrain delivers 21 speeds of ultra smooth, precise shifting with just your index finger and thumb; premium padded ATB saddle is stitched for quality. It comes with a resilient steel frame so it’s ideal for daily all-terrain riding, especially since it needs very little maintenance.
It’s an alright bike if you learn something about it prior to purchase. For example, it’s classified, properly in my opinion, as an ‘All Terrain Bike’ in order to differentiate it from being a full-on Mountain Bike. You’re not buying this to take down ski slopes and professional mountain bike course. Buy the Right Size Bike – Don’t try to use someone else’s bike. Chances are it won’t fit you, not to mention that it is adjusted for their body, not yours! You wouldn’t want to run in the wrong size shoes, so follow the size guides and buy the right size bike for your height and reach.
It is more about how efficient and how comfortable the bike is. Comfort and efficiency is what this promises to offer you. Thanks to its strong steel frame, this bike can accommodate heavy riders.

I would just suggest keeping your ricipt and purchasing a chain repair tool in case your chain brakes a ways from home like mine did. Allow Time to Adapt – Whether you have a new bike, a new saddle, or just haven’t been on your bike for a while, your body will need some time to adapt to riding. Go on a few short rides to let your body remember what it feels like to be back in the saddle. Ensure your Saddle is Flat – Make sure your saddle is flat and level to the ground (though some women prefer a small amount – 1-2 degrees – of forward tilt). If your saddle is tipped too far up you will feel like you are sliding off the back of the saddle, your posture will be poor, and your lady parts will be none too happy.
The shifter is easy to engage, and the transition is smooth. You can choose the desired gear depending on the surface conditions. The saddle has two colors and is adjustable, so you can customize it depending on the height of the user. Despite this, you might find the seat to be quite steep, which can be uncomfortable during long-distance rides. It all depends on the nature of the trail, some trails are flat, others have sharp bends, steep hills and slopes.
The top-of-the-line Mongoose models are constructed with avid and professional mountain bikers in mind. As of 2013, these hybrid mountain bikes from Mongoose, which feature new and innovative bike frame designs, can cost up to $4,000. Considering schwinn bicycles that this is a bike that is built for women, the weight can be an issue for some users. If you want one that is lighter, we recommend picking a mountain bike with an aluminum frame, such as Dynacraft Power Climber 26″ Ladies 21S Mountain Bike.
I didn’t feel confident enough on the bike to power-pedal standing up. Just power-pedaling from a seated position made it feel like the crank arms and/or pedals were flexing slightly under the strain and forced me to back off some. For a much lighter rider, this likely wouldn’t be an issue. The pedals seemed fine and fairly strong despite being plastic. So I can only suspect the flex I was feeling had to be the thin crank arms.
These two high-performance bikes both come equipped with high quality 26 Inch alloy rim wheels. Now you can focus on your journey without the wondering whether or not the rough trails are too much for your bike to handle. Those who are professional bikers who do not need help and are looking to invest in a mountain bike that can handle rough terrain may want to skip over the Huffy. Those who are not used to riding a mountain bike of any kid could benefit from the simplicity of a Huffy bicycle.
Additionally, the 26-inch knobby tires have an extremely rugged footprint and are excellent for both dirt and paved roads. Not to be left behind, the Shimano derailleur shifts very well uphill and performs remarkably well even when riding bumpy single tracks. Narrower wheels are lighter and accelerate faster but lose out to the bigger wheels on essentials like traction. Thankfully, you can always replace the handlebars if you feel shortchanged.
