Lancome Cosmetics

It keeps going on it’s herbal/woody-with-a-touch-of-spice journey, rather than stopping at a candy shop or just stopping altogether, like so many modern fragrances do. Through all these greens, woods, and spice, it manages to remain fresh, yet sophisticated as well in a green/herbal sort of way. This is certainly not your average cologne type scent that starts and stops the same, and though it doesn’t last all day, it has surprising longevity for it’s genre – lasts about 6 hours on me. I would say the sillage starts out moderate, then tones down to low, but stays just above a skin scent. Another little-known gem from the past, and I’m glad it’s still around. Established in 1935 by Armand Petitjean, French luxury beauty brand Lancome is known for its line of premium skincare, makeup, and fragrances.

They reformulated not only the perfume but also the bottle. In the present formula it’s a summery scent. The original was a year round deep, crispy scent with good silage. No, this isn’t the Ô de Lancôme I fell in love with years ago. But this is something new, younger and most certainly unisex in a way the old version wasn’t. That missing Oakmoss note in Pleasures is in this one.

My mom had it when I was a kid, back in the 70s. I grew up with this scent, one of the first memories of my life is regarding the embossing of the bottle – there were roses, in my imagination. I had chosen the perfect day to test O de Lancome. A rather humid Summer day in the centre of a busy and steamy city. I’ve tried it a couple of times now.I’m not getting the light lemony green that everyone else gets. Green, with a lot of basil and lemon, but a little bit darker, heavier , and fresh in a “soapy” way.

The opening is similar to 4711 Koelnisch Wasser, but O takes it further with oakmoss. The citrus notes deepen and sweeten as the scent sinks into the skin. Longevity and lasting power are average, this frag is certainly worksafe and unlikely to offend anyone. Unisex and oh so nice in hot weather, vintage O is a delight to wear. This exclusive gift features a slew of the company’s best-sellers.

This is, in my opinion, a very intimate perfume, perfect for not only summer, but for all year round. I won this perfume here on fragrantica, so thank you. Ô de Estee Lauder NIGHT REPAIR is a very natural scent that invokes that very mental exercise in me, not to mention that it relaxes me . There is no denying that this is very green and something all of us want to find in nature.

Yes, that was the original perfume, before changing the formula somewhere in the 90s. My mom had it, and I remember the bottle being somewhat purplish, a frosty grey-white, stark and cold, lacking the embossed O. Guys, you should definitely be brave and have this gem in your bathroom, in your bag and in your gym locker. And if you live in Europe, it is one of the cheapest luxury perfumes money can buy.

On the other hand, if you went to work rocking 4 sprays of Mugler Alien EDP you would fill the entire office up. People will smell you before they see you and it’s also a very polarising (love/hate) type of scent that could give your co-workers headaches . Classy, elegant and sexy is a subtle way. This is not a massive projection head turning fragrance and is very easy to wear all year round for any situation. Don’t spray too much of this for best results. Has amazing lasting power, you can still smell it when you wake up.

I have a mini Ô de Lancôme EDT, and I don’t like at all. For me it has this unpleasant musty smell, sorry. I’ve been researching for a summery perfume for myself today. Got it down to a short list of three I wanted to try, with this perfume being on the list. The aromatic vibe is due also to the spices and a few beautiful flower in it. It’s a perfume that is more complex than one might think at first.

It’s actually as if somebody took the leaves with the whole bush, twigs, roots and all, and blended indiscriminately. I mean this in the nicest possible way. First of all, seeing the comparisons to Diorella was a bit startling (it is my mother’s signature perfume, and I thought I would have noticed the similarities!) but they are absolutely spot on. I received this as a gift a good couple years ago, but was unable to see past the mighty citrus opening – it seemed too bitter and too powerful. Recently I tried this from a miniature. I wouln´t pay that much for a generic unisex citrus cologne with no sillage and no longevity.
