Men’s Polo

I don’t know of any fragrance that actually smell close to it though. Nothing to add but this is the epitome of masculine men’s fragrance. I never wore this on a regular basis in the past but I believe the recently purchased bottle I have, though true to what I remember, has the overall heft and base notes dialed back. It still lasts well and seems more versatile now to me. Redolent of pine trees and stale cigarette butts.

This is a very good fragrance and a grown-up classic for sure. There is very little out there today that smells like this. But that being said, Polo is a Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt classic. Hopefully, it will stay around for a long, long time. Workplaces and society in general are less tolerant of fragrances than they used to be.

Also woods and patchouli along with moss, and a hint of leather. I like this scent the most when initially applied as I can smell the pine and fir. Under drydown it becomes exclusively tobacco, leather, and woods. Moderate sillage and strong longevity. I’m just not that great of a fan of the scent – especially in drydown – the tobacco and leather kind of ruin it for me; I would prefer a more natural forest scent.

I still have several of those bags in the classic green canvas to this day. I used the canvas briefcase for my first job out of college ralph lauren t shirt in 1984. The satchel bag I have still has the paper surrounding the shoulder strap tucked under the flap, and it looks brand new.

Polo is one of the easiest scents in the world to overspray. I think we’ve all been in the room with a guy who wore too much of this on too warm of a day. Also, the presence of personal body funk (or the dreaded ‘older man smell’) can render this fragrance just a really ugly air pollutant. I’m sure encounters like this have turned more than a few people against Polo. I think men who have a strong natural smell to their person are better off with a fresher fragrance to wear. This is my absolute favorite winter fragrance.

To me it’s a special occasional one. You wear it if you want to celebrate something. To me, it smelled like nothing else. However, as I recall there was a sweet aspect to it back in the day. I have no idea what notes I smelled. I thought this might be one of those frags that I would take some time to enjoy, but I actually love this one on my initial testing.

I much prefer Encre Noire by Lalique for example, when it comes to forest-smelling colognes. A classic as other people have stated . My father wore this scent so I have memories associated with polo original. It’s a heavy hitter and should be worn properly . definitely for a burly and confident man to wear . I’ve gotten a couple compliments from this fragrance and also love it myself .
