I just bought a bottle a week ago and it’s now my go-to fragrance every morning. I’ve received so many compliments, I think this would be an office or school safe fragrance. I love it but you have to be in the right mood and the right state of mind for this, a old school swagger. It defiantly has a wisened gentlemanly feel too it. Like a old library or cigar bar or antique store kind of vibe. Heavy on the pine needles, and a almost burnt out, tar like campfire smell.

It lasts 4-6 hours on my skin with 2-3 sprays, and 8-10 hours with 5-6 sprays. Projection is at least arms length throughout.It even has lasted 2 days on fabric. Putting on my quarter zip sweatshirt 2 days after I had taken it off I was immensely surprised to smell the PERFECT dry down of Polo. If there was 1 scent that I would want to smell like, regardless of day, time, season or circumstance, it would be this one. ultra-hyper masculinity in a bottle. The handsome, fit, complete and versatile man.
I quite enjoyed it—and man has it changed too— but it took a backseat to Polo Green. I wore Polo for about 20 years but it just kept going through reformulations and it is now a watered down, quality stripped shell of the original. It’s Polo, but a cheap imitation of it.
It’s not sweet at all, which makes it stand out from a lot of modern colognes & what draws comments. It has impressive silliage and longevity. My skin absorbs most colognes pretty quickly but this one will last me 8+ hours. All you need is the ’78 Firebird and to unbutton your shirt revealing a hairy chest to complete the picture. I will most likely give an update in the future, maybe on 6 months when I’ve got a more solid opinion, but I have a feeling I’m only going to like this fragrance more.

It’s outdated in the sense that it smells like something that belongs to a specific era and that’s really not compatible with the contemporary taste. I can imagine men of my age and even younger wearing this really well back in the 80s, but not now. It’s a very interesting and unique classic scent that’s worth ralph lauren t shirt trying just for the sake of your fragrance culture. Growing up in a catholic country, when I was a kid, some groups would have religious figures going house to house for pray-overs. One I remember was of the Virgin Mary. They give out some green cotton doused with minty green oil, and this reminds me of that.
As it dries down you keep some of the “forest-y” smell from the pine, but the “green” smell dies down and evolves into tobacco notes. As a result I get a “grandpa’s humidor” vibe after the first couple hours. Like other reviewers said, it really smells like money, not the newer bills made of plastic (I’m Canadian, I don’t know how us bills are nowadays) but the old Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt ones made of paper, like a big stack of it. It’s really powerful, I tested 4 different fragrances on different areas today and I can only smell Polo , I wish I didn’t bought the 240ml bottle, I’ll have enough for at least 3 lifetimes. I think if you are over 30 this is great, in my case it definitely gives me a good throwback in my childhood when I spray it.
Definitely one to try and wear first. Still a great and unique smell ralph lauren t shirt even today. Of course I loved this back when I was in college.
