Ralph Lauren Perfume

Every time I purchased a bottle, I would be gifted Polo bags and other gifts . I still have several of those bags ralph lauren t shirt in the classic green canvas to this day. I used the canvas briefcase for my first job out of college in 1984.

Bought a travel spray out of a gift set. Right after a shower it’s on point. I think this is what Quorum wants to smell like but is harsher. Distinct scent for a discerning man. My parents just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this week and of course he wore Polo when he took mom out to dinner in his best tweed suit.

The crew neck is the iconic choice and more casual. The V-neck is more universally flattering yet a bit more formal. For the V-neck appeal, but more casual look, select a sweater with a half-zip neck.

The 2019 bottle I tried yesterday seems to have sorted that out. It was much more of a fresh-pencil-shavings cedar/pine opening and quite pleasant the whole way through. All the nastiness was gone and replaced with a smooth, creamy, earthiness that progressed logically into the drydown that we all know and love.

I recently read about this perfume and was astonished that it was created in 1978. And that it is called an old man’s perfume. I’ve been wearing this Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt since the time I was 24 and fit right in. I think it is extremely masculine scent. It can be worn by anyone who can carry off the masculine feel.

I wore it uninterrupted throughout my twenties. It now evokes so many memories when I wear it now I just sink into nostalgia. Woody, green, but floral at the same time. It starts bright, leaving trails of grass and moss, before drying into leather and Patchouli, which for me is its dominant note. It has amazing projection and lasts all day.

I’m not sure why this scent is so polarizing, but it definitely can be too overwhelming for some occasions. It’s just such an amazing green leathery tobacco-ey scent that smells like money to me. I still have about 5 mL left in my 1995 bottle, so I can’t judge the current formulation.
