Some bikes use drivetrain forces to firm up the suspension when you pedal hard—a trait generally referred giant KIDS BIKES to as anti-squat. When compared to their Maestro bikes, the FlexPoint system displays much less anti-squat. It’s a plush and active rear end that provides a smooth ride but it’s also quite mushy when pedalling. I don’t have a lot of experience with the rear suspension design chosen here, apparently it allows the chainstays and seatstays to flex and only has a single pivot point. It felt good enough to me, and I hope it doesn’t create chain kickback or squat, input is welcome in the comments below. Since its original launch back in 2005, the Giant Trance has gone on to become one of the most common full suspension mountain bikes found on Aussie trails.
