Finally, there’s a protected power port that you can run an extension cord through. If you’re anywhere near a generator and rely on power throughout the night, you won’t have to worry about leaving your electronics exposed to the elements while they charge. The inside of the tent features integrated storage compartments sewn into the sidewalls. They’re big enough for a phone and a couple of toiletries, but nothing major. The only issue with the pockets is they’re located along the sidewalls of the tent. If you should need to access anything during the night and aren’t next to your pocket, you’ll be reaching across quite a few bodies.
I had bought this tent thinking it was going to be dry, man was I wrong. I will never buy an Ozark Trail tent in my life and I will tell everyone I know that if they buy one ozark trail chair what to expect. And that is you will never be dry in one because they suck bad. Only complaint was the zipper hangs on the front door flap, destroyed flap and zipper.
It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes). But unfortunately, because I’m not tall (I’m 5’3″), I couldn’t get the rainfly up on my own, and that’s where I got stuck. This roomy option (20′ L x 9′ W x84″ H) offers similar perks as the above 12-person option, but with a little more privacy. It comes with two room dividers to keep you from having to share trail snacks or your airbed, as well as a couple of closets for your storage needs. One removable divider is made with silver-coated fabric, making it a potential movie screen for optimal outdoor entertainment. On top of that, all of their tents are affordable, come with an electrical cord port, and set up in minutes.
The pole structure is very simple, there are only 8 guylines in total, and the stakes aren’t your super high-quality stakes. There’s no dark room technology though, and it’s quite bright throughout the day. On top of that, there’s also no zip down the middle of the divider for easy access into either room.
When the kids got older the extra dome was used for storage. My cousin bought another brand and got lots of rain despite sealing it. She will now most likely get an ozark b/c of the results of my tent. Took the tent back to Wal-Mart the next day and got a refund but it definitely ruined the weekend and some of us now have colds to fight off. I think the tents aren’t made with the quality of the older tents. I would suggest that you go back to making the tents as in the past and I’d love to have another tent only if I knew I wouldn’t wake up to rain coming in on me.
Our favorite for easy setup is the Ozark Trail 8-Person Instant Cabin Tent with LED Lighted Poles and Bluetooth Speaker. A center height of 78 inches makes this a great choice for taller people, as any good cabin tent should. Cabin-style straight wall tent designs provide more lateral space, sure, but a dome tent is better against the wind. The rounded sides make this tent well suited to withstand strong winds. Not only that, but the dome tent will keep you safe from the elements better than any cabin tent out there.
I also liked how my head wasn’t directly beside the door, which often occurs for an end-door tent. If something crawled through the zipper door it wouldn’t immediately be inches from my face but instead would have to work its way a few more feet to my head. At the same time, my head wasn’t zero or six feet from the door, but about two or three feet at all times. Usually I share a 2- or 3-person tent when backpacking with others to split up the weight, but as mentioned we each needed to be self-contained so I brought my 1-person tent from Ozark Trail. My Ozark tent was set up in my wooded acerage all summer long. I was so pleased with the quality that I upgraded and bought a bigger Ozark tent.
