This is a singlespeed (only one gear) which makes it easy to maintain. The Townie has the look of a traditional cruiser bike but has added features like a 7 gear drivetrain, schwinn cruiser bike rim brakes, and an ergonomic saddle. This means that you’ll actually be able to ride up (and down) hills and make it more than a mile before you wear out.
Eyelets are attachment points on the bike that will allow you to add an after market rack. Yes, you can find cheaper ones from Walmart or other big box stores, but I wouldn’t recommend them. They also cost a lot more, but if you plan on using your bike a lot, or if you’re not in the best shape, you might want to consider an e-assist cruiser bike. That said, if you plan on biking anywhere with hills, you will want more than one gear (or plan on doing some walking).
The Schwinn Sanctuary 7 is the perfect cruiser bike for riders looking for comfort and style. The steel frame and full fenders provide a durable ride that can take you anywhere, while the 26-inch wheels are perfect for riders 64 to 74 inches tall. schwinn cruiser bikes boast great comfort thanks to their wide saddles, low handlebars, and upright riding position. They’re also easy to get on and off of, making them ideal for riders who may have difficulty with more traditional bike designs. In addition, cruiser bikes tend to be very durable, meaning they’ll last you for many years of riding.
This geared cruiser bike has 7 gears (perfect for climbing hills!), and Shimano derraileur and shifter. One of my fondest memories is pedaling a cruiser bike thru the narrow streets of San Francisco and out across the Golden Gate Bridge. Equally good days have been spent cruising along the boardwalk on a beach cruiser, or biking to coffee and yoga class. The 2.125-inch comfort tires give you more stability and smooth ride and allow you to take it in light trials at times. This is best for anyone looking for a stylish bike but also does not want to compromise on comfort. The gear shifting is great with 7 speed twist gear shifters.
The salt air is no match for the Coast’s rustproof components, which include stainless-steel spokes, an aluminum frame and fork, and a maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive belt. Sealed bearings keep out water, and Kenda puncture-resistant tires are hardly fazed by broken glass and clamshells. On boardwalks and level city roads, you’ll likely spend most of your time in the hardest gear, but you’ll be thankful for easier pedaling when the street takes a slight upturn. Three other contemporary bike trends are related to cruisers. For decades, Latino car enthusiasts have been lowering the suspension on older American cars to build “lowriders”. Their younger siblings have begun building their own custom “lowrider bikes”.
The most desirable Cruisers are the Cruiser, Deluxe Cruiser and Cruiser 5. The 4, 7 and Alloy as well as the other models were made as part of the Signature Series by Schwinn’s current parent, in China. Best looks for a standard cruiser and comes with a 7 speed hub. I only bought this bike because of the looks an the 7 speed hub.
The name “Schwinn” in front of the title “Cruiser” has traditionally meant solid, comfortable riding, a cantilvered frame
a top balloon tires and an overall look that never goes out of style. This year Schwinn offers a wide choice of Cruiser speeds,
sizes and colors. You can enjoy cruising with or without a beach in your neighborhood. The Schwinn Cruiser bikes are great for people looking for a comfortable, stylish ride. With their wide seats and upright riding position, they are ideal for leisurely rides. While they are not the fastest bikes on the market, they are a great option for those who want a relaxed ride.
