The only immediate giveaway that this isn’t the same as the scooter gathering dust in your parent’s attic is that the wheels look much larger. The shiny aluminum deck, colorful wheels, minimalist foot brake, and folding stem all harken back to the scooting days of yesteryear. Please allow 3-10 business days for your order to arrive.

Razor has experimented with the tyres with mixed results. In the case of E90, the urethane front tyre has no shock absorption ability, which severely affects its performance on non-flat surfaces. The E90 has a push-button acceleration and the scooter can be stopped with the help of a hand-operated front brake. The 20-year-old company began with push scooters, but nowadays they are best known for the foldable electric scooters.

The chain-driven wheel is powered by a high torque 100-watt motor that provides up to 40 minutes of continuous use at speeds up to 10 mph. The Razor E100 is a pretty sweet, smooth ride for younger kids that are jumping at the chance to ride an electric scooter. With a front air tire, it rolls more smoothly than the E90 which has a polyurethane front wheel, but not as smooth as the E200 which has a front and rear air tire. razor scooter We do love the added safety of the kick-start motor that requires a child to push off and be moving at 3 mph before the motor kicks in. The Razor E200 electric scooter has all the features that parents want and everything that kids crave in a scooter. The all-steel frame and fork make this ride strong and durable to the point that your child will probably outgrow this scooter before it has any structural problems.

That’s why I have decided to share my first hand experiences and hundreds of hours of research to provide you with a comprehensive review of the Razor E100 leaving no stone unturned. The handlebars are a standard, non-adjustable t-bar with rubber hand grips with rubber bumper ends that will protect hands from falls and also will hold up better than traditional foam. Folding the scooter down is a simple affair – quick and easy. The scooter doesn’t fold down to a size that’s backpack-friendly, by any means, but it’s certainly small enough to keep under your bed at night. I’ve never felt uncomfortable letting them ride it on their own since it doesn’t go too fast and it is really easy to learn.

It also gives them just enough ride time at 40 minutes per battery charge. The scooter has a 1,000-watt motor and chain drivetrain that helps it reach speeds of up to about 20 miles per hour, with a range of 16.6 miles. And with some solid 16-inch wheels with wide pneumatic tires, that ride will be very smooth, according to Razor. Other features included in the cargo scooter include bright LED headlight and tail and brake lights, and an onboard display for speed and battery life. The rechargeable battery gives your kid 40 minutes of continuous riding time, while the pneumatic tires and hand-operated rear brake give them a smooth ride and keep your child safe. If you’re concerned about balance, you might want to try a vehicle with three wheels, like the one in our Doohan iTank review.

From experience, kids don’t need to have a scooter that they can fold and carry. Having a scooter that is light, can be easily folded and carried is more of a requirement for adult electric scooters, especially for commuters. Due to its kids-sized frame and deck, the Razor E100 is one of the lightest electric scooters in the Razor range. With a twist grip accelerator and a hand operated front brake on this e-scooter for kids, you’ll be in training for bikes, motorbikes and the next level of awesome. The front wheel is subject to flats as it has inflatable 8” wheels, they do however give you a more comfortable ride given the shock reduction they provide. It comes with a kick-stand so your kids don’t have to toss it around and damage the handlebar.

The foot deck of the E100 is 7.75″ wide, which is plenty of space for riders maxing out at 120 lbs. The E200 and E300 both have fuller decks for larger riders. Electric scooters are more expensive than traditional scooters because they have motors and large batteries. Be aware, however, that they are still basically toys and Razor is not a luxury brand. We’ve had our own issues with our E100 (keep reading!) and we’ve heard lots of stories of scooters that just stop working or never work out of the box. To charge this scooter, you’ll have to find the plug under the base, move the cover aside, and plug in.

It’s designed for kids to ride easily and safely, too, with hand breaks, a motor that maxes out at a speedy but not wild 10 miles per hour, and acceleration via twist grips at the handles. (Notably, twisting the grips also turns on LED lights on the deck.) It’ll hold kids razor scooter ages 8 and up with a weight limit of 120 pounds. And here I am, three weeks later, telling you I’ve changed my mind. Razor’s E Prime III is a reliable, cheap(er) electric scooter option if you’re not 2 Fast 2 Furious and don’t have to go more than about 7 miles away.

The options are plenty and you’ll have no difficulty in finding a model that suits your requirements. Thanks to its robust design, the Razor E100 has been built to withstand the wear and tear that would expect on a kids electric scooter. Razor are well known for their quality products and from my personal experience, I would agree.
