Gas BBQs Weber® Official

Grills with more burners are usually overkill, and two-burner grills can feel cramped. Gas grills cook faster and are easier to use than charcoal grills because you can turn on the flame with the press of a button and control the heat with the turn of a knob. They don’t produce much smoke, and they’re simpler to clean than charcoal grills, since you don’t have to dump any ashes. Those are parts that should be easy to find and can be purchased for a reasonable price—preferably from the company that made the grill. Any solid grill maker will have those available for purchase, even if your grill is 15-plus years old.

No matter who you are or where or what you’re grilling, this is the best grill you can get. We were testing it side by side with other grills for reference and this was by far the easiest to move across both grass and concrete. Not only did these weber charcoal grill taste great, but just look at the real estate left over on that grill. I tested a couple of burgers and eight sausages and there’s acres left over. You could easily turn out ten burgers and 20 sausages, which is more than enough to feed a crowd.

On the positive side, it has welded steel pieces and provides a sturdy base for the grill. The double doors feel substantial, and they swivel smoothly in their hinges. We also like that the base sits on four casters—as opposed to the weber bbq combination of two casters and two fixed wheels on its predecessor, the Genesis II. And compared with the Spirit II’s two fixed wheels, the casters on the E-325s make it easier for folks with varying abilities to maneuver the cart.

The grill has three burners, as well as a special high-heat searing zone, and its primary cooking grate is 513 square inches, providing plenty of space for your food. This weber bbq led us to surmise that the smaller Spirit model concentrates the burners’ heat better. We had no issues with the meat sticking to the flat, porcelain-coated iron grates.

However, if you have a natural gas line in your home, there are some gas grills that can use this type of fuel. Some grills come with a conversion kit that lets you change them from propane to natural gas, while other grills are solely designed to use with natural gas. Many Weber grills, including our runner-up for best overall, the Weber Spirit II E Burner Gas Grill, can be purchased in both liquid propane or natural gas models. As you look at different gas grills, you’ll want to consider factors like their cooking space, number of burners, and special features like side burners or smart connectivity. To help narrow down your options, we tested 13 of today’s best large gas grills, evaluating their ease of use and cooking abilities.

Then, completely open the propane tank’s valve slowly and pause to allow time for the gas to travel through the gas line. Charcoal is easy to pick up at just about every grocery store, home improvement store, or gas station, so you won’t need to make a special trip. But you’ll need to have a charcoal starter on hand, will have to wait for everything to cool down before you can dispose of it, and need to deal with the messy ash afterward. For a gas-powered grill, the Weber Spirit II E-310 is our top choice thanks to its three burners, compact design, and useful features. If you’re looking for the classic Weber black charcoal grill, you can’t go wrong with the Weber Original Kettle Premium 22-Inch Charcoal Grill. At our Lab, we found the SmokeFire EX4 was the fastest to reach 500 degrees, achieving it in just under 10 minutes, and eventually maintained an internal temperature of 600+ degrees during testing.

For our 2022 update, we relied mostly on research and reporting, as well as our rigorous testing from years prior. We combed big-box home-improvement stores—including Home Depot and Lowe’s—and Big Apple BBQ in New York to view anything new. And we again chatted with Joe Salvaggio at Big Apple BBQ to get his expert opinion of the gas grills available for 2022. Overall, we found that the core function and design of grills we’ve covered in the $400 to $900 price range hasn’t changed.
