Ozark Trail Tent Reviews

Be extra careful with the poles and label them with tape once you have it all up and ready to camp. So, without tons of additional waterproofing, are definitely not meant for rainy weather of any kind, even in light rain. In view of its instant setup, this tent is particularly suitable for people who change their camping place frequently. So if you are on a cross-country tour with your friends or your family, this is a tent to consider. I have a set of rating criteria that I use consistently for all the tents here in the site.

The design change I want to comment on concerns the little “laundry room” that protrudes out the back of the tent. The short pole supplied for that protrusion splintered in two places and poked about four small holes in the black fabric of the laundry bubble. Better instructions on how it should be installed would have prevented the splintering, but I would rather have seen the “laundry room” not be an outside protrusion from the back of the tent. Rather it should have been a large pocket on the inside of the tent that requires no pole at all. I have pitched the tent twice in my back yard and found that I could pitch it by myself in about one hour.

It’s beautifully sturdy, with steel poles that keep the freestanding tent both steady against the wind and easy to move should you need to. Plus, it’s well ventilated thanks to the six large windows and built-in roof mesh, so it should never grow too hot in the summer, even if it’s packed with sleepers. The steel poles offer excellent sturdiness for your tent’s frame, but it’s surprisingly ozark trail canopy lightweight (just 20 pounds) for a tent so large. The cabin design gives you lots of room to sleep, sit, and stand, and the 6’6” peak height is well-suited for taller campers. Tall users will love it—with 86 inches of headroom, you’ll never have to bend or stoop. It’s sized to fit two queen-sized air mattresses with plenty of space to spare, or 10 sleeping bags/pads side by side.

This dome tent is the “Clip and Camp” alternative to its standard dome tent, and boy what a difference does that clip system make! All you have to do is stake down the corners, install the frame, and use the provided clips to secure the tent to the poles. The fiberglass poles won’t hold up to very heavy winds, but as long as you don’t take it “extreme” camping in very rough weather, you’ll find it suits your needs perfectly. Spend a few extra dollars on a higher-quality brand to get the most comfortable and effective use of your outdoor gear. Finding a tent within a tight budget can feel a little hopeless, but there are actually quite a few affordable options out there for people willing to do a little digging. Whether you’re in search of a large shelter to share with friends and family or a lightweight solo tent for smashing trails in the backcountry, here are some of our favorite budget tents.

Though it’s heavy—a whopping 60 pounds—the tent comes in a wheeled carry bag that makes it a cinch to transport to and from your car. This may not be the lightest tent (nearly 50 pounds!), but what do you expect from a tent built for an entire family of 12? The combination of polyester fabric and alloy steel poles makes this a reliably sturdy tent, and users are thrilled by how waterproof it is, even in heavy rain. It’s a beautifully lightweight tent, too—weighing just 20 pounds—so it’s not too heavy to take backpacking or hiking with you. Setup isn’t exactly instant (you’ll spend minutes pitching this bad boy), but it’s a simple, straightforward design you can love.

My husband and I decided to head to the Texas coast for our 10yr old’s first camping trip. I LOVE the room first of all , and the looks were very eye pleasing too. There are some tent brands that charge an arm and a leg, but still provide a poor camping experience.

We must have had some wind but not tornado force/ hurricane force winds. I just wish who I need to contact to get a new tent shell and two end poles that are made of sturdy material would contact me and make good of it. This tent is ok…I bought with the money that I had saved up and I really wanted a cool looking tent. I think that this 35 dollar tent could outlast the expensive ones. Mine is red and black and the rainfly covers everything except for a tiny place to get in. When you buy anything from Walmart it is made cheap so it can sell for cheap.

It’s got space enough for everyone, as long as you don’t mind sleeping together in a single open-floor-plan shelter. Chances are you’ll probably spent most of your days out and about—at the festival/concert, hiking, or kayaking—but you can come back to the tent and stretch out in full comfort for a good night’s sleep. If you’re in need of a tent that can handle a big family, you’d do well to consider this one.

With room for 12 and nearly seven-foot ceilings, it checks all our boxes for a big family tent, but even as cabin shelters go, this one is special. The 10 person capacity that this tent is marketed for might be a bit higher ozark trail wall tent than we’d prefer in reality if everyone is really going to enjoy enough personal space inside to be comfortable. The only reason that we knocked the Ozark Trail 10 person tent on value for money was its overall durability.
