Meet A Mud
CasioThen, drawing inspiration from the petrol tanks seen on offroad vehicles that traverse tough trails, Casio designers created a special dual-layered case that provides enhanced protection from mud, dust, and moisture. This case features an airtight stainless-steel panel back as well as a shock-resistant fine-resin fiberglass back. The bluetooth smartphone link, however, makes a lot of sense and genuinely enhances the user experience in several ways. Even basic Casio watches require a little learning, but all the functionality offered in these more feature-packed models can be overwhelming to use with only the few buttons available on the watch itself. From within the G-Shock Connected application, you can control various settings and displays, set alarms and timers, and customize the watch’s modes.
The illumination is not the best I’ve seen because the hands don’t have any kind of paint that glows in the dark only a backlight that kind of illuminates the whole screen but not enough for very dark situations. A new bezel structure lets you visually check whether the bezel has been screwed in adequately. This watch has sooo many features and it fits just like my other watch, just note that this watch is big.
To prevent dirt and water from getting into the case, Casio has used double rubber rings at the crown and pushers. G-Shock watches mostly share a basic set of features, with more involved baby g shock and premium models building upon them. Stylistic elements aside, the differences between G-Shock families and models can largely be divided into durability and technology features.
Over the years, G-SHOCK has taken many forms and comes in a variety of sizes, but the original principle of a tough exterior shell that protects the more fragile elements suspended within has remained a constant. The compass incorporated into this watch is obviously useful for an outdoor watch. The compass is, as mentioned, accessed by using the top right button. Once the compass is activated, you can read the bearing via the screen and the north indicated with the second hand. The watch has both an analog display and a digital LCS screen in order to display all of the information and data.
The LCD screen at 6 o’clock is used for reading the sensor functions of this watch. A downside of the GWG-1000, however, is that the screen is quite small and can be easy to read. Fortunately, you have the light button which makes g shock watch it a bit easier. You may also use the button to move the hands out of the way quite frequently. Another button, the last button, is positioned at 6 o’clock at the bottom of the bezel and is used for activating the light.
What I found to be somewhat frustrating is the fact that the alarm has no snooze option. This is a pretty minor thing compared to other more important features that the Sky Cockpit did get right but I thought it is important to highlight it. Remember that this is a very appreciated watch that has been bought by thousands of people worldwide and until now it seems that most of them have good words about it. Although it’s great in most situations it has a drawback that I find to be frustrating.

At first encounter, the Mudmaster’s aggressive size seems to suggest its purpose as rugged equipment and just how much tech is packed inside it. Colors and textures that reference military or industrial themes further communicate that this watch means business. The height of the resin layer is thick and it is followed by a brushed stainless steel layer that’s highlighted with the same stainless steel on top which runs adjacent to the buttons.
For those on the road, the Quad sensors- compass, thermometer, altimeter/barometer, and step tracker – are other useful tools. The watch features a very bright illumination technology „Super-Illuminator” as Casio calls it, that can be activated with the touch of a button. The luminous coating on the hands and hour markers are very bright and will offer g shock protection great readiness even in very dark environments. Casio have added a new high-end model to their G-Shock family, the great looking GWG-1000 Mudmaster. As with other G-Shock models the Mudmaster is shock-resistan, but is also constructed to resist mud and vibration so that it can be useful in a variety of harsh land environments, like the desert or mud.
Is it unreasonable to wish that the digital parts illuminated along with the analog parts ? I know I can’t really see the digital with the analog light. My previous Mudman gave nearly 8 years of faithful service before it literally fell apart and I would expect this one to last as well. This mudmaster is meant for those who requires a watch this tough, those who defend your ass when you’re sleeping. It seems that Casio keeps it up very well by releasing all these great G-Shocks to fulfill the customers requirements. Some may say that the future is for the smart watches but I strongly disagree with that.
