In booster mode, the entire base must be in contact with the vehicle seat. The recline angle indicator on the side of the seat has a bubble that must be entirely on the line. When installing rear facing, this seat can use any of the three rear facing recline positions as long as the bubble in the recline indicator stays fully on the blue line. If the seat is not reclined enough for the tiniest of passengers when it’s in the most reclined position , Graco allows the use of a rolled towel or pool noodle to achieve a more reclined installation.
If you have a particularly small vehicle, make sure to get measurements so you can better determine if visibility will be a problem. This seat has held up in real-life crash situations. One such experience occurred with an 11-month old baby involved in a terrible rollover accident. This seat was graco jogging stroller crash tested only in the US, so if you’re outside the US, check with your country’s specific safety standards. Or call Graco to see if there is a specific model sold in your country. Parents and caregivers love this car seat, stating ease of use, comfortable fit, and excellent color options.
She’s 52 inches tall and wears a size 12 in clothes. For a long time, the 4EverExtend2Fit Platinum in backless booster mode was her very favorite car seat so I was eager to see what she thought of the 4Ever in backless booster mode. In backless booster mode, this seat is a bit taller than many backless booster seats so it worked well with the very high backed seats in my 2011 Mini Countryman.
First, it can be used as a rear-facing infant car seat with a weight range of 4 – 40 lbs. There is no explicit height limit in this mode, except for the rule that the head of the baby should be at least one inch below the seat’s top handlebar. You can recline the seat to suit the need of a baby; there is a clear indicator on the side for the suitable recline position. When we talk about the all in one baby car seat, then it is obvious to get susceptible to the efficiency of the product. But for the all in one car seat, it does not stand true as it is perfect, easy to use, well designed and safe. It is very easy to use and comfortable for the kid as it can be easily converted into five-point harness from rear-facing car seat and to forward facing seat or to high-back belt positioning booster.
The bottom of the 4Ever is smooth and has no rough edges. It is wide, however, and I don’t expect it to fit into narrow centre positions of many vehicles or in very many three across scenarios. There are 2 integrated cup holders to keep your child’s drinks, snacks, or toys close by. For those that spend an extended amount of time in the car, like our family, cup holders are a convenience especially as the children grow older.
The higher weight and height limits for rear facing will allow most children to rear face to 4 years of age and the high harness height will get all but the tallest of children to a reliable booster age. It may however not get all children to an age where they can 5 step before it expires or they outgrow the standing height limit. It’s quite remarkable though that one seat can truly fit well from birth through age 10+ — it is still a lot of seat and I think the Graco 4Ever truly can be called an All-In-One seat! Which is why the 4Ever has earned a spot on ourlist of favourite convertible seats(even though it’s more than just a convertible). The Contender 65 convertible car seat holds a rear-facing infant from 5-40 lb and a forward-facing toddler in its 5-point harness from lb. He’s 5 years old and gearing up for his first year in school — and his first year in a carpool so he’s starting to learn how to ride in a booster seat.
This seat comes with a bubble level indicator , which is easy to read and the angle of the seat can be moved for comfort . The 4ever has a higher than average crash test analysis result with sensor data significantly better than that allowed by the federal guidelines. All the products in this review meet or exceed the federal minimum safety guidelines defined in the FMVSS 213. This Graco has better than average results overall with respectable results for both the HIC and chest sensors. Both sensors recorded G forces well below the maximum allowed. We commission crash tests with the same facility National Highway Traffic Safety Administration uses and to the same specifications.
If you’re installing your 4Ever Extend2Fit with the lap/shoulder belt, you’ll find an integrated belt lock-off for easy vehicle seat belt installation too. The DLX also offers a rapid remove cover, an integrated belt lock-off for easy installation, and rubberized Fuss Free Harness storage. These upgrades do not alter the safety of the seat, only improve the experience for parents.
Both models also have thick energy-absorbing EPS foam pads for impact energy management. Their side walls provide excellent side impact protection. It’s really heavy and durable, so we have a light one that we use to travel and with care trackers for an in and out seat, but for a stationary seat we love this. The Graco4Ever DLX also comes with plush head and body inserts to help your smaller baby be as comfortable as possible while sitting. Plush inserts keep your child comfortable on your many journeys together.
