Geforce 20 Series

Those are both more than enough for getting the best out of 1920×1080 monitors, and neither of them will empty your bank account in the process. For the most part, none of those new Nvidia standards relies on the traditional “more speed, more CUDA cores” formula of old. Some impressive tech is clearly going into Nvidia’s efforts, including a shift to a 12nm process—and thus making room for new discrete processor cores on the RTX series’ chips.

This means you can count on super-smooth gameplay at maximum resolutions with ultimate visual fidelity in GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and 2080 graphics cards. It’s a wildly fast graphics card, offering roughly one-third better performance than the outgoing GTX 1080 Founders Edition. Dell engineered this model to be a large display with tons of desktop real estate.

I’ll be testing a couple of these over the next few weeks to see how they compare, but the figures below should still give you a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of raw performance increase. The point of saying all of this is that a strict Pascal vs. Turing core comparison needs to account for architectural differences that could change how well a “core” performs to begin with. In reviewing “Founders Editions” of the ($799) and RTX 2080 Ti ($1,199), I ran the usual gamut of benchmarks, and I did the usual double-checks of various games. But all the while, I turned Nvidia’s sales pitch over and over in my mind—because that’s more or less all I could do with the sales pitch.

The cards move forward with an upgraded-but-familiar Volta architecture, with some changes to the SMs and memory. The new RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti ship with reference cards first, and partner cards largely at the same time (with some more advanced models coming 1+ month later), depending on which partner it is. The board partners did not receive pricing or even card naming until around the same time as media, so expect delays in custom solutions.

The display also has a high 4K resolution and a USB-C port that doubles as both a video connection and a charging port for compatible notebooks. Right now you can get this display from Dell marked down from $1,069.99 to just $799.99. When it comes to the cooler design, NVIDIA is taking a major departure from their blower styled cooler from previous reference designs and going for a strong dual fan cooling gtx 1090 system which is said to deliver better cooling performance. The cooler comprises of dual rotatory fans that push cool air towards a large heatsink block that is made up of several aluminum fins and interconnects via heat pipe technology. The cooler has a high-performance vapor chamber underneath the hood which uses a copper base to effectively dissipate heat from the GPU and surroundings such as the VRAM.

The Nvidia GeForce gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb is, without a doubt, more expensive than its predecessor. The new GPU is a considerably better performer than the GTX 1080 with remarkably higher benchmark scores that even beat the GTX 1080 Ti and Titan Xp. The new test basically takes out all the guesswork out of maximizing the performance of your GPU, and it’s one of the unique features we love about the new Turing series. Additionally, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 introduces a new set of 46 RT Cores and 468 Tensor Cores, which play a hand in rendering real-time ray tracing and artificial intelligence-powered computations.

And once again, depending on the game we see between five and eight percent uplift, but on some games, there’s no difference between the two GPUs at all. Like the previous Super cards, it now has a shiny metallic surface, which looks really slick, but this mirrored surface lies face-down when installed in my gaming PC so nobody will see it, which is a shame. The metallic backplate is still here too, and it looks as good as ever and also contributes to this GPU’s premium look and feel. Nvidia recently announced “super” variants of three RTX GPUs to compete with the new Navi GPUs from AMD. We’ve already reviewed the 2060 Super and 2070 Super, but the RTX 2080 Super was pushed back a bit, and now it’s finally here.
