As someone with a tiny galley kitchen, I only have room for multifunctional appliances that I’ll actually use. Between my beloved Instant Pot and my KitchenAid mixer, I can accomplish most kitchen tasks, but with no outdoor space available, I didn’t have a way to grill. The hidden drip tray gives the Griddler a smaller footprint and a neater appearance, but that also means it’s easy to forget about when it’s time to clean up.
While it’s not on sale right now, there’s no way of knowing if this multipurpose appliance will still be in stock come the holiday rush. While the griddle side is perfect for making pancakes, cuisinart pots and pans set you can also buy waffle plates separately to swap in if you prefer waffles. The nonstick surface is very nonstick, and even burned-on cheese slid off easily, making cleanup a breeze.
Its Drip Tray slides into a slot located on the side of the unit base. It’s six cooking options i.e. contact grill, panini press, full griddle, full grill, half grill, half griddle & top melt, let you do your own thing in the kitchen and experiment with food the way you wanted. Both nonstick plates are reversible and firmly attached into the unit so that they cannot easily become loose. The GRILL side is perfect for steak, burgers, chicken and vegetables; use the GRIDDLE side to make pancakes, eggs, heat tortillas or sear scallops.
The handle is also made of sturdy cast aluminum and has a protective, heat-proof covering. The Cuisinart 5-in-1 Griddler is the ultimate in kitchen versatility, with five separate cooking functions including a full, 200-square-inch cooking surface – and all neatly packaged into a small storage profile. With outdoor grilling season coming to an end and indoor cooking becoming essential, adding the cuisinart pots and pans set to your kitchen allows you to indulge in restaurant-worthy dishes at home. For less than $80, the multifunctional appliance is well worth the investment.
I didn’t trust it to not be hitting out so I replaced it although I used the waffle plates on it first nd it worked great. When you’re finished the removable cooking plates can be popped into the dishwasher and the whole grill can be stored away easily. The cooking plates, drip tray, and scraper are all dishwasher safe. And the base, cover, and control panel dials can be wiped down with a damp cloth then buffed with a soft, dry cloth. The heating elements in the Elite are inside the plates for more efficient heating, and the temperature of the grill plates can be controlled independently. But the one extra we found most interesting was the ability to set the lid above the surface of the food, so you can heat without contact. While that might not be something you’d need every day, it would be great for cooking open-faced sandwiches or reheating pizza slices.
