Maybe even the extreme sports guys wouldn’t use these features, but they’re there and fun to use in daily life. In this hobby, it’s a rare occasion to see photos or articles about watches that aren’t pristine or new. It’s also very rare to meet someone who likes watches but has kept it to a minimum of 2 or 3 pieces. Almost every photo that rolls across our Instagram contains a watch in pristine condition; works of art meant to be adored by collectors and enthusiasts.
A spherical glass and mineral glass provide dual-layer protection for the dial, while dual LED lights make it easy to check the time even when you’re on the trail at night. The G-Shock Mudmaster was designed and engineered to withstand rough land environments. The case is made of high-rigidity carbon material to protect against damage and deformation due to impact and other rough treatment, while metal button pipes ensure a tighter seal against the external environment. A filter further protects against the invasion of mud, for the high level of dust and mud resistance required when in severe environments. In addition, the dual back cover consists of a stainless steel panel back and an outer cover made of shock-resistant fine resin embedded with glass fibers. The bezel is formed of three layers of fine resin with carbon fiber inserts.
Aesthetically, the look of black carbon fiber on most of the case is gorgeous. The G-Shock has five buttons that are situated around the case and every one of them has a special function. The fifth button is placed on the bottom of the case and activates the light. Unscrew its protection cap, pull it out of the watch and you are able to adjust for example the time.
His writing style is inspired by certain “British automotive journalists” and his own experiences growing up and living in a blue-collar society. We finished with a conversation of comparison between the watch community and the local biking community. We talked about how the watch, or the bike, is not only a tool for our passion, but also gives us a sense of pride, brings us together, or even carries the souls of us for many years to come. As I sat at a table with my friend and his watch in hand, I couldn’t help but fixate on the size of the case. The Mudmaster GG A5 definitely has a wrist presence and dwarfs almost all of the common G-Shocks that I’ve ever seen. His wrist is smaller than mine, probably by an inch, and it looks big on me.
Beautiful carbon Fiber inlaid bezel really makes the watch pop. The Matte Carbon Fiber Bezel provides great looks and true function. I have owned this watch for a while and continue to discover features and little details that set it apart from others. I was also very impressed with the output of the light- it will truly light up an entire room if needed.
I sincerely prefer the mineral glass over the sapphire crystal because of the way it behaves over time but that’s more of a personal opinion. The stainless steel resin case is of incredibly good quality and trust me it can be reliable for lots of years from the moment you buy it. The band material is a good-feeling resin that Casio pretty much used in all G-Shock with some exception, so nothing new here. The height of the resin layer is thick and it is followed by a brushed stainless steel layer that’s highlighted with the same stainless steel on top which runs adjacent to the buttons. This is yet another way Casio added a touch of class and refinement that also helps to the overall structure resistance. The final layer that comes with filled engravings is a stainless steel bezel and the smoothed outer layer structure has a matte finish.
In addition, it has large applied Arabic numerals for 12, 3, 6, 9. Both the markers and hands have luminescence to make the analog clock legible even in low-lit conditions. This isn’t a dive watch, but it still offers a water-resistance of 200m/660 feet which means it is suitable for both swimming and diving.
I love how clean and organiszed Casio have made this Mudmaster model. Sure, it is still packed wull of information and markers, but with only one digital screen on the bottom, it makes things a lot easier to deal with. This button opens a dialog that displays additional images for this product with the option to zoom in or out. Casio G-Shock Japan announced the new GWG-1000MH-1AJR Mudmaster for a December 2016 release.
While you don’t ever need to use it, those who want their G-Shock to now also serve as a pedometer have a solution in a non-smartwatch. For this reason, the watch is now called “Quad Sensor.” This adds to the existing compass, temperature, and barometer/altimeter sensors the watch also has. Other useful functions include sunrise/sunset times and the normal host of useful G-Shock features.
